I have a k&k mini fitted to my bourgeois OM, and have an old Crafter electro-acoustic. I have tried plugging them into my Roland Micro Cube GX but what little sound I can get out of it is truly awful. Can anyone advise me on an acoustic amp, one with minimal effects would be fine. Do I need a preamp or are there acoustic amps with a built in preamp? I am not looking for a gig-quality amp - I was never anywhere good enough to gig - but something for home use and maybe an open mic night at my local folk club (although they do have a PA) which is held in a large upstairs room over a bar. My knowledge of things electric is absolutely negligible.

Helene and I are back from NAMM and as usual Eastman did not disappoint. Besides some sexy new finishes for the PCH, upgraded AC models with armrest no less and the super cool SB55 and SB54, the big news I think is the introduction of the E6 Thermo Cured series. At @1065 Street price these will no doubt fly off the shelves once they get them to dealers. Spent a few minutes with them and while NAMM is not ideal for tonal evaluation I was very impressed.

I just took delivery on one of these for $306.91 delivered to my local UPS Store (to prevent "porch piracy"). I took the strings off, wiped off the guitar with a mild cleaner, oiled the bridge and fingerboard, put Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze 12-54 strings on while replacing the plastic bridge pins with bone pins, stretched the new strings, tuned it up and WOW! At the very least, this guitar makes a wonderful camp-fire guitar which will NOT cause one to miss the "really good" guitars, safe at home.

I have owned a PCH1-D- CLASSIC for a few months and was hoping the OM version would prove to be just as good. IMHO, it sounds about 85-to-90 percent as good as my E10OM! Eastman has done it again! They've designed and built the BEST $300 guitar on the planet. If you own one of these, I'd love to hear your thoughts. This guitar will replace the Yamaha FG800 I have had for camping!

Dana Bourgeois makes some great guitars. The guy playing one of his guitars is pretty good technically - but what strikes me is his 'feel'  - he has the soul of an artist -

Okay....I deleted a thread I had started about a new guitar to keep from being confused with this one.

I bought online from my favorite guitar shop an E1-OM. I usually drive over (about an hour and half away) but this time I decided to go through Reverb. They called me the next day before they boxed the guitar, to let me know the back had a minor ding that must have recently happened. They wanted to inform me so I could cancel the transaction, get something different, or reduce the price on the E1. I ended up getting a E10OM.

The E10OM arrived, and really is a nice guitar. Went through my normal setup process which went quite easily actually. It would be a nice companion for my beloved E20D. Well guess what??

I found out that I am definitely a dreadnought guy. The OM was certainly a fine instrument, but I found that I missed the tone, and vibe of the larger body dread. So I drove over to play their Eastman guitars this time. What knocked my socks off was their E10D. I've read that mahogany has a more woody, dry tonality. Where rosewood (my E20D) has more overtones. This is very accurate.

Both my dreadnoughts sound amazing, and are amazingly different. No redundancy at all. A long post I know, and a more eventful guitar purchase than normal. In the end though I am extremely happy with this E10D. Just beautiful tones, and a joy to play.

I'm on the hunt for an Eastman AC508M - its an all mahogany version of the AC508, which is the smaller Grand Concert size that is now only available as the AC108CE-LTD.  There are a couple of nice videos on YouTube. If anyone sees one, or has one to sell, please let me know. Thanks!
