Hi fellow Eastman enthusiasts (Eastmanites?),

Finally doing an introduction after joining the forum quite some time back but not really getting around to contributing much, apart from posting on the Eastam-Bourgeois thread and realising that it was my first post.

I live in North Wales (UK) and discovered Eastman a couple of years ago when researching (i.e. Googling) for a small-bodied, 12-fret slothead that was of good quality and would be nice to play and own but, as it would be a 'second' guitar, was reasonably-priced. I also wanted a design that looked 'normal' so no weird headstocks, bridges, pickguards etc. The usual suspects (Martin, Collings, SCGC etc) made models that fitted all my requirements bar price. 

To cut a long story short, the E10P fitted the bill and, fortuitously, there was a dealer within a reasonable driving distance who had a good stock of Eastman, including an E10P with a sunburst top. I didn't need much persuading and snapped it up. With hindsight, I wish I'd grabbed one or two more guitars as they had a good stock - one of the salesmen was raving about an E10SS - and they had a good selection of electrics of all types, too. Sadly, the shop (Sounds Great Music in south Manchester) closed in Dec 2019 so not only is there no Eastman dealer local to me, Eastman guitars themselves seem to be getting a bit thinner on the ground here, the few dealers in the UK don't seem to have the stocks they were holding just a year or two ago.

Anyway, I'm an Eastman fan (I managed to get a few catalogues and literature, stickers and even a T-shirt from Sounds Great) and am impressed by the quality and value they offer. I'm looking at an E10SS or an E10-00SS/v next - I have one or two questions about these so will put them on the main forum in the near future. 

Mmm... a mandolin may be nice as well...

Just bought my first Eastman--a used E10OM acoustic (after having lusted for months after a SB59/v electric which at some point I'll buy). I haven't been able to put it down. What an unbelievable guitar!

My pro musician friend who helped me purchase was likewise impressed with the quality, craftsmanship and detail in the price range. Hope this is the beginning of a collection.

I'll fill in the stock questions, but now I'm going back to playing my guitar.

We all love our Eastmans and value their amazing quality, but when our kids and grandkids inherit them, will they be disappointed they aren’t Martins, etc.?

My wife found her grandfather’s 1935 Gibson L-OO buried in a closet. I had it restored and display it in our home proudly. I would do the same if it wasn’t a Gibson, because it is a piece of our family.

My kids aren’t spoiled, but this is a question that I occasionally ask myself, so I thought I’d see if anyone else has had similar considerations.

Hi all,
this is my first post as I just purchased a pre-owned E10ss. I'm hoping for your opinions on which strings seem to sound best on this instrument. I normally play D'Addario EJ16 Phosphor Bronze (12-53). I don't play fingerstyle or Flatpick Bluegrass, just jam with friends playing chords and some lead stuff.

Well, after many months of shopping, I've finally taken the Carbon Fiber guitar plunge.  I've been wanting a worry free guitar for some time, given the extreme weather here in AZ (aka - heat and lack of humidity!).

Rainsong is one of the pioneers in Carbon fiber guitars, and I am looking forward to having a guitar I can leave out in any room, play outside without issue and take camping etc. 

I'll post more once the guitar arrives!

I was weighing up the new Lowden Sheerans, not hands on but from a distance. They received generally very good reviews in the music press, and I was intrigued, albeit not to the extent of buying what is a laminate guitar (yes I am that kind of a snob). I spotted this vid by Richard (of Richards Guitarsin the UK). I found it interesting, despite Richard being uncharacteristically sheepish - nevertheless he is not at all positive about them.

Just got in a bunch of TC models. Some are already spoken for while others aren't. In today, 2 E20D-TC 2 E20 OM-TC 2 E10D-TC and 2 E10OM- TC. Can't wait to check them out. I'm sorry they won't be here long.

Was in Blues Angel Music yesterday, and they just got in a Romeo. If my heart was not set on a T64, I would have certainly left with the Romeo. Sounded fantastic with the Lollar Imperial pickups. Playability was absolutely one of the best of any guitar I've had the pleasure to play.....really. What was truly surprising was the comfort of the guitar. Fit so perfectly against my body. I actually noticed that first before anything else. Just held it there for a bit before even playing the first note. I definitely see myself owning one of these in the future.

Last year or the year before I foolishly let my T64 go. It was the amber finish with a Bigsby. I would have preferred the gold burst with a trapeze bridge, but they did not have one in stock. Still a fantastic instrument that I regret selling. This past week Blues Angel Music got my preferred T64 in stock. Soooo....I now own my dream guitar. Picture below is my actual guitar that the dealer took. Much much better picture than I could ever take. I feel like an old friend has come home.

I have a guitar legend built by Zane O'Brien in Nova Scotia. It's a beautiful thin line telly that he built for himself in 2001 . I just did a little fret level and setup and kept the action the same height off the fretboard . My question is also a observation but I might be wrong. It's 25.5 scale 11/49 strings and now bends much easier then before ? It's actually has the feel of my SB 59 with the 24 3/4 neck . It's actually the same strings as they weren't old . I installed new pickups and saw it had a little fret wear . The only thing I can guess is I changed the neck angle and then the saddle height with the new setup , changing the break ankle at the saddles . What does anyone think ? Chris please chime in if you have a opinion. The guitar strings tension always felt stiff before . Interesting he built it with a 12 radius fretboard .
