Bought this (2008/09) AC515 from of all places Seattle 4 weeks ago today.

It's a cousin to my AC615.
Mahogany back/sides.
Someone did an after market under saddle pickup & changed the bridge pins to brass.
Changed out the bridge pins with a set of Tusq pins I've had for a few years.

Both guitars are light weight cannons with perfect necks for my style.

My 386 has a nice somewhat thick neck , it's a little thicker then my SB59. I'm wanting another Eastman but have fallen in love with my 3 warmoth 24 3/4 conversion necks (boat) . So much so I just ordered another for my thinline telly. So being left handed limits my choices but thinking I could special order a Eastman . I was told by a Eastman dealer that Eastman would build left handed on order but would have to take the neck they come with. So which Eastman's have a thick neck ? My boat necks are 1" there entire length. Don't have to be that thick but more then 60's Gibson it seems some Eastman have .

I've had my eye on Eastman acoustics for a while now, but hadn't pulled the trigger.  I had a new E1D bookmarked on Reverb.com and the seller offered $100 off and I couldn't pass it up.  It arrived today and I am blown away.  I am absolutely amazed at how incredible it sounds.  I've had a cedar-topped cheap Takamine for years and I love that, but this is just another beast altogether in every way.

I play a lot of surf on electric, but also play Johnny Cash live and dabble in bluegrass and I absolutely adore this guitar.

I live in Northeastern Ohio, and being cooped up with the pandemic will be a lot more tolerable with this incredible E1D.  I'm already thinking about an E2D to replace the Takamine!

I've browsed the forum for a bit and this looks like a nice group of folks.  Sorry for the long post... thanks!

Hi gang... here's some late night guitar using my Cordoba nylon. 

The song is an Earl Klugh cover of 'The night has a thousand eyes' ... I am not playing the entire song because Earl is the master and he really goes to another level on the original.  The recording could be better, but using an iPhone sure is a quick setup!

While scrolling through Reverb I ran across a listing for a sunburst AC630. I own a sunburst AC630 I had to check out this listing in Belgium. Since I am in the U.S.A. I thought it interesting that another one had been crafted and listed in Belgium.
It was pointed out that the photo is actually of my guitar. The photo was from The Acoustic Shoppe's website before I purchased it. Not a photo from the newly listed seller.
Just a warning to be careful when looking at online listings. Deal with folks you know or have been vetted. This forum has a lot of members who can vouch for dealers such as The Acoustic Shoppe and others.
It's a jungle out there.

Hello All,
I'm looking at a 2007 E6D (Online Reverb).  Guitar looks good but hard to tell without it in my hands how it sounds.  I do own an E10D and really love the Mahogany sound, wondering if the Sitka will be a different sound.  Also wondering is there should be any concern with an older Eastman in the way of construction versus new models.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated

It's my understanding all the music stores in Nashville have closed their showrooms to the public for now. Mail order is still the norm.

Mass Street Music in Lawrence, KS has closed their showroom to the public, and in addition to their online mailing, have instituted curbside pickup and drop off of repair work, and sales of items like strings and tuners exchanged at the door.

I look for practices such as these to spread across the country until we have a firm, windpipe crushing grip on C-19.

Until then, follow CDC guidelines, and don't give in to the panic the media is trying to generate.

Hopefully this isn't too far off topic.

A few years ago, I inherited my grandaddy's binoculars, which are a pair of Bino-Luxe 10x50 with a compass mounted in the top of the leather case. Grandaddy really liked nature and bird-watching. He got them sometime in the late 50s or early 60s. They're not mint by any stretch, but they've been cared for. Sometimes when the local astronomy club has a star party, I'll take them with me since they are good for looking at the moon and viewing Jupiter and Saturn. They show up small, but you know what you're viewing.

These binocs aren't considered all that collectible or valuable, but I still don't want them getting damaged. I've been thinking about getting something like them that I can carry in the car without worrying about ruining my grandaddy's binoculars. I found a similar set on the 'bay at a reasonable price. They're newer than what I have, have porro prisms like the ones I have, and are also rated at 10x50. 

My question is that the measurement on the newer set says that they are 360ft at 1000 yds, where the older pair I have is more like 281ft at 1000 yds. What's the difference? Since their lenses are the same size and magnification is supposed to be the same, shouldn't that spec be the same too?

Once upon a time, I would have considered getting something from the FSU or modern-day Russia, but I'm hearing that their optics aren't as good as they once were, and most older FSU stuff has become more attractive to collectors instead of users like me.
