Offering my barely played 2018 T58/V for sale. I just don't play enough electric anymore to justify owning this wonderful guitar. Solid spruce top with laminated flame maple back/sides and binding. TV Jones classic pickups and US made Bigsby trem. I don't have to tell this group how amazing Eastman guitars are and this one does not disappoint. Original hard case included along with factory certificate. This guitar has the factory distressed amber varnish finish and it looks fantastic. Not too much relic, just enough to look good without going over the top. Currently set up with Ernie Ball .011-.048 gauge strings. The guitar is currently wearing a Compton solid stainless steel compensated bridge. Original bride is included. These pics don't do the guitar justice and I will try to get a few outside shots if the sun ever shines again. $1300 shipped anywhere in the continental US.

Hello everyone,

I just bought a gently used AC420. Spruce over rosewood (my first), and it's quite pretty. It could probably use a little setup help since the action's in that area between 7/64 and 1/8. I'm a little surprised that it's that way because the spec on my E2D said it would be 3/32 on the bass E string, and it was pretty well dead on target.

My question is about a good set of strings for this spruce/rosewood git. I've had good results on other guitars using Martin Retro lights or D'Addario Nickel-Bronze lights. The strings that came on the guitar were those newer coated D'Addarios, and the B strings for those feel like a knifeblade and put my teeth on edge, so they had to go. I had a pack of the D'Addario Nickel-Bronze lights and decided to go with them. 

Well, I'm not sure that I'm happy with the end result. They say that Martin Monels need a couple of days to break in, and I've never been told anything like that about the D'Addarios. The worst part is that I can't really define what it is that I don't like, but whatever it is, it's making me question whether or not I should even keep the guitar. 

I have another pack of Martin Retros and a pack of D'Addario EJ16 lights. I hate to waste fresh strings, but don't like what I'm hearing. I'm also debating waiting until I can get the action where it needs to be for comfortable play.

What do you have on your AC420 or similar?

My name is William and I'm new to this forum. I live in the Southeastern United States in the State of Tennessee. This is a great place to live, and I would encourage anyone who likes beautiful mountain scenery and cosmopolitan big cities in one state to come give us a visit. We're generally friendly and enjoy when people want to come see us.

As far as guitars go, I have a sapele Eastman E2D that I purchased new and an AC420 that I just bought gently used. I also own a Recording King RD-A9M and a Dean Daytona acoustic that I've owned since 2003. Hard to avoid getting GAS sometimes...

I can't claim expert playing status at all, and tend to be a five-chord strummer most of the time. But I'm trying to learn more, and think these Eastman instruments are hard to beat for value.

I have an AR805ce.  The tailpiece recently broke at the metal hinge.  I'm told that this is a common issue with Eastman Guitars.  I reached out to both Eastman and the authorized dealer that sold me the guitar.  No response...nothing....just radio silence.  How can I get this resolved if the manufacturer won't even respond?  Thank you.

Anyone have any experience with forward-shifted Martins like the HD-28 Reimagined or 28v? I think my Eastmans, especially my E8D, have great bass, but I keep hearing all the hype about forward-shifted guitars. I can’t help but wonder if I’m missing out on some amazing bass response that I hear people talk about.

Anyone used a scotch-brite or #OOOO steel wool on their SB59 nitro neck? I have a case of the sticky neck syndrome and would love to make this on play like my two varnish models.

I don't get to work on many old timers.... A friend brought me this 1934 Gibson L-00 for a tuneup. The old tuning machines were finicky and sticky, had a couple short cracks in the back, and the action at the bridge was a little high.

I have no spare parts to repair 80 year old tuning machines, but a little Chapstick on the worm gears loosened them up a bit. The cracks were easy, worked a little dilute hide glue in, didn't even clamp them. Just used tape to hold it level and let it dry. The bone saddle was pretty short and hard to hang onto, but I managed to worry about 1/32 of an inch off the bottom. Fresh John Pearse strings, and this thing sounds terrific and plays nicely. The vee'd neck is not too chunky, quite comfy to play below the 10th fret.

The old chipboard case smells ancient and moldy, but the guitar is pretty shiny where the old finish remains. No funky spooge on it, or dust bunnies inside the box. A real delight for me, and a nice break between shiny new Fenders and what not.
