Hi guys. I've got an e20-om that I've had for about a year. It's finally starting to open up a little and I'm really enjoying the guitar. Only 1 problem; I'm primarily a fingerstyle player and the nut width and string spacing feel a little tight to me. I don't know why, as my other guitars have a 1 3/4" nut and feel a good bit more "spacious". With the Eastman, I find that trying to play any chord that is spaced over 4 or more frets and I get jumbled up, often the high or low E will slide off the edge of the fretboard. I love the neck carve, I just wish it had a tad more width.

So my question is is it possible to get a guitar from Eastman with a wider fretboard and nut? Can I order the same guitar I have with a wider nut? Do they even make a guitar with a wider nut and spacing?

I wouldn't normally bother you with this but why not.
One the sales guys at Gryphon Strings gave me a pack of these 12-53 xt dadarrio strings to try.
Don't usually use this brand, they sound really good, two things, first these are hard on my fingertips even with the callouses, are these strings known for this? Or is it that I am washing my hands alot more. I don't notice it on the guitars that have Jpearse and GHS strings. Also, I am noticing quite a bit of noise when pushing down on the strings, not buzzing when the fingers are on the board just with initial contact.
I have had it checked at Keith Holland's Guitar and was checked twice this week and setup is fine.
So any thoughts would be helpful to me. I wish you all a Good Friday and an excellent Easter.

Hey there i, m new in this place, i own a T486 and i. m looking for a wiring diagram,,, is there anybody who can help me,, i, m planning to build in a overall volume knob like the gretch models. I think it's easyer this way to lower the sound that is made with 2 pickups instead of turning down one of them with the toggle switch in the center position

More sad news. John Prine has died from complications arising from Covid-19. I had tickets to see him in Manchester a couple of months ago, but the show was cancelled. I think I will refrain from any more such tributes - I have a feeling that before this C19 thing is resolved we will have lost more of our heroes, some of them maybe close to home.

I posted this photo here (and a few other places) recently, and it generated several good discussions, both publicly and privately, about the differences between the different guitars.  This might turn into a long post, or I might break it into several posts, as time permits (work is keeping me busy).

I have a bad case of the Eastman acquisition syndrome. Needed a P-90 guitar and very happy with the SB56. The satin neck is a great playing smooth neck. Each one of these has a unique voice so my studio is in good shape. (obviously I have  other guitars and single coils as well).

I hope everyone out there is safe and practicing good social distancing.
I have a question about the Neck thickness (not nut width) on my 2 Eastmans.
I have a 2011 E8D and a 2012 E10D.
The neck on the E10D is not as thick as the E8D.  The E10 has what I can only describe as a shallow C while the E8 is perhaps a C shape but very noticeably chunkier, almost to the point where I don't pick it up very often.
I purchased both within the last 6 months and they are the only Eastmans I've ever played.
My question is what should I expect from the neck of a newer Eastman?  Was the difference in neck profile something that changed over time or is there a difference in the neck profiles between Rosewood and Mahogany models?
I'm considering a newer E6D but I don't want to end up with a chunky neck.

A week ago, last Friday, I was supposed to see Wilco play the Fox Theater in Oakland.  It was going to be my fifth Wilco show, plus getting to see Jeff Tweedy play a solo show a few years ago (which was amazing!).  It was also going to be my kids' first Wilco show (they're 15yo, 11yo), which was exciting b/c they've been listening to Wilco their entire lives (including so many bedtimes in their early years).

Wilco's new album is very good and their best work in a decade.  Here's Jeff playing a couple of new ones, an interview in the middle, followed by a song from his solo album and finishing off with an older Wilco track.

I titled this Jeff & Wilco, as I'm sure I'll add more videos later on.  Jeff is one of my favorite songwriters, and Wilco is an exceptional live band.

One of my favourite guitarists is Bill Frisell, and I really like his reimagining of this Dylan classic :-
