I have an Eastman SB59 Blk w/Pearly Gates and have read either multiple times that doing a 50s wiring is about the only upgrade the SB59s could receive. I am looking at replacing it with the Doyle coil’s true clone holy grail 59 wiring harness it runs about $180 I wanted to know if anybody out there that has a firm knowledge on the Eastman wiring if this upgrade would be worth doing
I know Eastman already uses quality wiring with orange drop capacitors etc. so it’s not the quality of the harness that’s making me want to do the change is the style so I can acquire better rolloff and maybe some added tones I guess any feedback is always good to hear

Here is a review of the Eastman SB59/v by Brett Kingman, who reviews a lot of gear.  He is clearly impressed with the Eastman and the review displays a wide variety of tones that can be produced.

Anybody get a chance to play an e2OM with a cedar top? I play a lot of fingerstyle and was thinking it might be cool to get a guitar with a cedar top. The price point seems very reasonable. I could find one demo online that compared it to a spruce top guitar, and I liked what I heard, although the audio quality wasn't the best on the recording. Anybody have one? May I hear your opinion of it, good or bad? Thanks.

Hi everyone...new T486 just arrived, and I am floored.  I'd heard the buzz, read the reviews, even played one of these in a store several months ago.  Began craving a Gibson ES335, but was unwilling to part with the cash for a new one.  Enter an Eastman, at a boutique store near me in Charlotte NC.

Anyway, long story short, I'm no stranger to guitars.  Been obsessed with these instruments for decades, own/have owned way too many, built a number (all acoustics) with a world-class luthier, and know what quality is.  And for the money, I am flabbergasted.  I've asked one of the moderators, Pura Vida, to give me an inservice posting photos, and when I can I'll post pics of the guitar.  

I'm kind of torn between thinking I should shout about this from the top of my lungs, and thinking I should shut the h*ll up lest the prices on these things soar and shove me out of the market.  I'm guessing I'm not the only person to feel that way.

If your entire acoustic guitarsenal had to be two eatman acoustics what would you choose? I figure you probably want one dread, one om; one rosewood bs and one hog bs; possibly one sitka and one adi. Oh and maybe one natural one sb... But in what combination?

For context, I play fingerstyle, flat pick and strum/sing. I bought and e6om last year which was my first quality guitar. Its great but I can't decide what to get next. I can px the e6om at my local shop. I was considering an e6d combine with a e20om or maybe e40om... But keep changing my mind. Maybe I should get a e40d and keep the e6om?

So what would you do?

A few months back I had to sell off most of my guitars to help fund a significant home improvement expense. The one I regretted more than any of them was my E10OM-TC. Fortunately I was able to replace it. The new one is very interesting in its physical differences to my original. Some quick points I noticed
Nut size - 1.77-78" (original dead on 1.75")
String spacing @ nut - 1.52" (original 1.49")
Neck finish - it is more of matte than gloss
Back and sides color - a lot browner than red as on the previous mahogany
Color - it is quite distinctly toasted. I have attached three pics - new, original and a side by side with my E40OM.
Tone - great dry, direct mahogany sound very similar to my first one from what I remember
Playability - very easy, just like the other E series guitars

Bottom line - it is different in appearance but similar in tone and playability. (I know that's not a word) I feel the differences are just reflective of a more hand built instrument. These aren't criticisms or complaints, just observations.

Some of you might remember ex Eastman employee Pepijn t'Hart. He left Eastman rather suddenly, and I for one wondered what he was up to now. I think I have found out! He has been a singer song writer for many years, and in fact fronted a band called Clean. Now he has released his first solo album.
