Any one know what would be drop on replacement turners for a. Eastman AC120?
I've had it about five years and bought used like the guitar, tuners not so much.

Mainer here.
Lifelong music lover. I’ve played trumpet when I was a child (long since forgotten anything I knew) then bass guitar off and on over the years.

While the kids were growing up and we would all be piled in the car listening to whatever CD was in or the radio I would make offhand comments on how “I played drums in that one” or “I gave Willie the idea for that while we were jamming” or “That would make a great ukulele tune” while listening to Zeppelin.

Four years ago my son, (now in his thirties, married with a son of his own) gifted me a ukulele for Father’s Day! I really haven’t put it down. I have contracted UAS (A form of GAS that I’m sure many of you have dealt with) and now own a concert, tenor and baritone. Love them all.

So, why am I on this site you may be asking.
The baritone has got me thinking about an acoustic guitar... okay more than thinking. I’ve been beating up the internet and started looking, holding and strumming. I’ve had a PCH series in my hand, a Martin DX series, Yamaha FG830, 800 and 850, some used Washburn comfort series... you get the idea. Yesterday I played a E2OM that has me thinking about springing for it. I’d did play the E2D and the E1’s. I really like the sound of the cedar and the body style is comfortable for me.

Baritone is tuned like the first four strings of a standard tuned guitar so some of the chord forms are the same-ish. My uke’s are solid wood, spruce top and mahogany or solid mahogany. I play for me. Most of the time on my couch.

My question is why Eastman?
Are there things you have run across that I should be aware of?
What made you buy this brand?
Any regrets?

I need to vent my spleen! I stumbled across an old vinyl Time Fades Away by Neil Young bought 1975, and which I kept (certain memories) when years ago I ditched my turntable and vinyls for CDs. Thought I would check Amazon to see if they had finally released it on CD and at first it seemed they had (GREAT!) but then I checked the contents and it's a completely different album! Same title but missing - Journey Through the Past, Yonder Stands The Sinner, LA, Love in Mind and The Bridge - and including a bunch of songs not on the original. It really p****d me off. What they did have was a vinyl version which looks like a repressing rather than new 'old' stock – but no good to me. The initial Amazon screen even has an image of the original album cover. OK - a subsequent page displays just the CD with a different cover, but the same erroneous content. So very frustrating and I suspect, deliberately misleading!

I'm really happy with the Jescar fret wire Eastman uses. I've noticed significantly less fret wear on my e20-om that gets daily play as opposed to all my other guitars that also do. Yet there is still none of that "ping" I hear with stainless steel frets. I wish other manufacturers would use it. It's really good stuff. Yet another perk for being an Eastman owner I suppose, even if it's not talked about much.

Looking for a T486RB, the Ray Benson signature model. Eastman has discontinued this model and I don't think there are many to be found. Please contact me if you have one you'd be willing to part with.

I haven't played in a long time and want a better guitar. I like smaller guitars with rosewood back and sides. When I've tried various Martin guitars, I've liked 00 and 000 rosewood guitars best, especially 00. I don't want to spend what a Martin costs. I do mainly finger picking with finger nails, playing softly and rarely use any kind of pick. I play for myself and volume is not important. Because of the virus shutdowns I can't visit guitar stores to try guitars. I'm old and have asthma, so I have to be really careful about exposure. So, whatever I buy will probably have to be online. I haven't seen any of these guitars in person. 

      There are a couple of things I don't know. I suspect that I would like 12 fret 00s rosewood bodies best. I rarely play far up the neck, so 12 frets should be fine for me.
 
      How do the necks compare? I get the impression that the E20oo has a thicker and wider neck. I'm not sure that I would find the thicker neck comfortable. The nut seems to be wider on the E20oo. I'm used to a nut that is 1 5/8" and have used guitars that are probably 1 3/4" OK. Is the wider nut hard to get used to? Is a thicker neck hard to get used to? My hand is medium with thin fingers. Sometimes I use classical guitar position with my thumb behind the neck. When I'm lazy I use a more informal posture.

      E8om: I like sound of the ones I've heard online and I like the size, but suspect I would like an 00 size better. I think I like the spruce top better than the Adi top on the E20oo, at least until the Adirondack is broken in. When available, used or new E8om are cheaper than E20oo.

       E20oo: I suspect that I would like this best in the long run, but hard to find used and more expensive new. I think I would like the 00 12 fret model best once broken in.

       E20ooss: I think the neck is closer to what I'm used to. I haven't seen any of these used online.

       E2om: This is my backup cheap choice. The videos I've heard of it, the cedar top gives a warmer tone than most sapele guitars, but not as warm as rosewood. I'm thinking of getting this if I get disgusted with my current lousy guitar and want something to practice on without spending $1400 on a E20oo.

       00 vs om: how much difference in tone is there between these Eastman models? I don't care about volume or strong, booming bass.
