E vs AC?
Posted by: phydaux - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (9)

I've been prowling YouTube, watching reviews of various Eastman E series guitars.  And honestly not really liking what I was hearing.  I even drove two towns over to play an E6OM TC at an Eastman dealer, and I wasn't impressed.  In fact the ebony headstock cap left a distinct bad impression.  Looked REALLY cheap, like it was paint and not wood veneer.

After browsing Eastman's site for a while more I decided to check out some AC series guitars, specifically the AC422CE and the AC322CE.  All I can say is

OMG, why didn't you guys tell me about the AC series before now?

The combination of rosewood and sitka on the 422 just sounded gorgeous.  A dealer one state over has one, along with a few E series Ds & OMs.  I'm going to do a road trip on Saturday and play them all head to head.

So is the AC series sort of Eastman's "premier" series, while the Es are their "no frills" guitars?

  Scale length
Posted by: Zeiss - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (4)

Laalgaag asked about nut width , made me think about scale length .
I love 24 3/4 , actually have 5 telecasters all have 24 3/4 , all my bolt ons are 24 3/4
I'm fine with 25 but don't like 25 1/2 or 24 .
Just a question of interest ?

Where do you buy your Eastmans?
Posted by: phydaux - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (34)

For those of you who don't have a local Eastman dealer, where do you buy your guitars?  Amazon?  Some other on-line seller?  Reverb?  Do you have a preferred Reverb vendor?

  AC222CE-OV bridge.
Posted by: Amazoman - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (3)

Hi all,
For those who know this guitar it is electro acoustic.
When I changed the strings last time the bridge saddle fell out as I turned the guitar. So should the saddle be glued in or simply pushed into the bridge?
It hasn't made any difference to the playability or tone by just pushing it back into place, so just wondering.

  NGD E6OM-TC
Posted by: tele_player - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (7)

I’ve been enjoying my E8OM-TC since July, decided to try the mahogany equivalent. Both have the Alpine Swiss tops.

Haven’t formed an opinion except to say both are very nice. I need to file both saddles a bit, and put fresh strings on both to make a fair comparison.

  ar603ced 15
Posted by: Coltranetime - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (2)

Hey everyone,

Any word on when the ar603ced 15 may become available in the US?
I've check several dealers and nobody has any answers.

I have a ar503ce right now and it is a great guitar but at this point (I'm old) I would prefer a 15" guitar.

Thanks,
Trane.

  Case for E20M 15" Orchestra
Posted by: Coltranetime - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (1)

Anyone know of a case that is a good fit for these 15" Orchestra acoustics?
Bought a Silver Creek case that should have worked based on the specs but the guitar fits a little to tightly on the sides and top for me to be comfortable with.

Thanks,
Trane.

What’s the deal with nut widths?
Posted by: laalgaag - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (9)

(In Seinfeld voice)

But really, I see posts where people are absolutely against buying a guitar with 1-3/4” nut width instead of 1-11/16”, or vice-versa. What’s the big deal over a 1/16” difference?

  New E20om tc returned
Posted by: tonykriegmaui - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (11)

I play a Martin OOO-15sm and a D-18. I have had a Eastman OM in the past. It was about 8 years old so I thought that I would check out whether the newer one with tc tops had improved. Anyway, the new OM-tc was very nicely built with a "chimey" treble end but, compared to my OOO-15 the low end wasn't there. I'd describe the Eastman as having a "tight" low end. Anyway, was able to return in a few days later and expect to receive at E10ss soon.
