I'm looking to buy an AC722ce that the seller says is approx 10 years old.  Upon inspection, I see what appear to be hairline cracks in the top finish.  I do not see any similar hairline cracking on the b/s finish.  It does not seem to effect the sound.  As I lightly rub my fingers over the areas I DO NOT feel any indentations and the imperfections are not visible unless you are looking closely.  Is this a result of the aging of the finish or do you suspect something more serious?  See attached.  I'm at a loss on value since the new 722ce is a lot different.  What would you offer the seller?

Hey folks... So I'm selling this guitar. Why? Because I just bought an E8D-TC w/ Alpine Spruce. Otherwise, I'd certainly be keeping this one. 

I purchased this guitar in June from Sky Guitars in Texas. Its currently set up with mediums (Martin Monel Tony Rice). Everything is original except the bridge pins which were upgraded to Martin 18APP50 with Pearl Inlay Ebony pins. The guitar will come with it's original hard shell case and will ship in an Eastman box with the Eastman packing. 

I'm going to say the guitar is in good condition because there are three small dings on it (which I've included in the pictures). The headstock dings were from a capo that I didn't realize was pinching on the wood... The top has a small surface ding where someone at church knocked a chair over into it. 

To that end, I'm pricing it accordingly and to get it off my plate. Basically, I just want to pay off the Affirm financing that I have on the guitar so that's what I'm asking... My loss can be your gain.

There was some confusion on his part on the COA date and the serial number date. His regional Eastman rep, Steve Bernstein, reached out to me and told me he'd cleared this up with Sky Guitars and confirmed that this guitar is a 2020.

I was looking at a Martin 00-18 Authentic 1931. One thing which strikes me about it is the 'V' neck profile. The 'V' is apparently rather subtle, but in general how do you find 'V' profiles? Have you any experiences to share?

WANTED: Eastman E20 OO guitar

My local Eastman dealer had three E1D's to choose from. Can't remember ever being able to try three of the same guitar model as I'm interested in before, what a treat! After an hour of playing all three one day, then going back the next day and trying them all three again there was a clear winner. Two of them sounded exactly the same to me while the third one was a little louder, more open sounding and with a much more ringing sustain. Playability-wise they were all great so I went with the open-sounding one.

Before leaving the store I thought to check the labels inside all three. I was somewhat surprised that the one I picked had a "M2023xxx" serial number while the other two were "M2105xxx" indicating that I'd picked the which had been hanging on the wall for a while. So now I'm curious whether being built in 2020 rather than 2021 had anything to do with the better (to me, subjectively) tone of the elder sibling. 

So I can think of three theories and I guess any, all or none of them might be true. I'd love to take an informal poll of other Eastman owners about these ideas...

Theory one. No two guitars sound the same so for any three guitars there would always going to be one that sounded better to me.

Theory two. The guitar spending up to a year or so hanging on the wall being tried and played by who knows how many people had "opened up" with time.

Theory three. Something about the way E1D's were built changed from last year to this year. I guess it's possible that could be the change from "Nitro" to "Trutone" finish or maybe they tweaked the wood choices or bracing or something.

I'm tempted to go with Theory One, myself.  I don't think a few extra months hanging on a store wall is going to do a heck of a lot to "open up" a guitar. And I doubt Eastman made any meaningful change that would affect sound in an immediately noticeable way from one year to the next.

Hey folks.. Sitting here playing my E6D-TC (I just put Martin Monel Tony Rice strings on it and OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!) and thinking about the purchase I made Friday in buying an E20D-TC.

I believe that I have the Alpine version of the E6D-TC which, according to @TomC in his sale thread, gets me most of the way to the Adirondack top of the E20. So here's what I'm wondering..

This is what I know.. I know the E6 is Mahogany b/s and the E20 is Rosewood b/s.. I know the tops are different in the Alpine spruce vs Adirondack spruce.

Is there anything else really different between these two guitars as far as build and construction? Or is simply the tone woods? 

I'm having a REALLY hard time thinking about selling this E6D-TC (which I'll need to do to recoup some of the money on the new one). I mean a REALLY hard time.

So, again, besides tone woods, is there any difference in the construction or build of these guitars? Any difference in the QUALITY of selected woods for the different models?

I will very much appreciate any help and guidance anyone can give me here.
