Hey guys I'm curious to find out what the preferred strings choices are from some of you E6D-tc owners. I bought a used one in mint condition a little over a week and love it but haven't had a chance to change strings until this weekend.
  I know that string choice is based on personal preference and can be very subjective but just wondering what some you folks like to use. 
   BTW, not sure how much it matters but there is evidence that mine may be one of those with an alpine top. It has a paler appearance than those that of seen in videos online.

I have a notoriously bad memory, which in most cases turns out to be a blessing.  On occasion, I'd wish I was a bit sharper.

I haven't been doing any guitar shopping for the past several months.  Last guitar I bought was a E20P in March 2021, I bought it new, locally and I do remember it was $1260, out the door.

I was doing some casual window shopping today, I stumbled across the Eastman E20P page and saw the current MSRP was $2050.00.

I understand that MSRP is not the same as selling price, but when I was looking back in March, it seems like the MSRP was somewhat below the $2K mark.  But I very well could be wrong.

Has Eastman raised their prices this year?  Quite honestly. I'd be shocked if they hadn't.  EVERYTHING else has gone up, why wouldn't Eastman guitars.

So.... I just pulled the trigger on an E20D-TC!!! - Now Cancelled

So very much looking forward to getting this guitar. (Unfortunately, I'll be selling my E6D-TC to offset costs but somebody will get a super deal on that!!)

I can't wait for it to arrive!!

Thinking about a T386 or T486. Any idea what kind of discount I can expect to successfully negotiate from the dealer MAP. Also, any recommendations on Eastman dealers that are willing to work with you on price.

The recent news over the current shipping crisis has me concerned regarding the future price & availability of Chinese made goods.  I've had my eye on an Eastman guitar and have been saving up for the purchase.  I'm thinking perhaps it would be better to purchase now from a dealer who has one in stock.

Both Guitar Center and Sweetwater have options for interest free financing.  But neither one stocks Eastman guitars.  Chicago Music Exchange stocks Eastman guitars, but they don't offer in house financing.  The use the Synchrony Music Credit Card.  They're happy to offer me credit, but at a usurious rate.  I'd be better off using my Capital One Card.

Does anyone here have any ideas for getting zero interest 12-month financing for an Eastman guitar?

I've read a couple of posts regarding both the reddish tint of this guitar and the relic finish on the sloped shoulder.  Does the reddish tint extend to the back & sides as well as the top?  Just wondering if the back & sides have some red overtones?
I'm looking at a used guitar being sold locally. I'm going to take a look and play it in the next few days but where should I expect to see the relic finish?  I expect the sloped shoulder to have relic finish - are there other areas on the guitar that have relic finish?

Hey folks. Where can I get a replacement bone saddle for my E6D-TC?

I purchased this guitar in June. I wanted to straighten the neck a bit but the dealer I bought it from sanded down the saddle enough that the action gets too low when I try to take relief out. Can’t go below about 0.010” relief.

Appreciate any help.

I hope you don't mind a few questions that come from my obsessive attention to guitar sizes.

First some background.  I'm a beginner currently playing a Yamaha FS830 and hoping to upgrade to a nice Eastman.  I've been considering Eastman OM models and OOSS models.  One thing that's holding me off from buying one sight unseen -- no local Eastman dealers here -- is that I'm not sure how different sizes will play under my arm and, having had neck and shoulder problems already from work, I'm quite picky about that.  Overall, the Yamaha FS plays comfortable, although being a short person with short arms, I need to extend my right arm just a tad out of my comfort zone to wrap around the lower bout, and I often need to extend my left arm forward -- which feels uncomfortable -- unless I twist right shoulder forward.  Playing with the neck up helps, but I tried a NeckUp device as well as a strap; unfortunately, didn't quite like either one.

Here come my questions (sorry about the long introduction): for those of you who own both an OM and an OOSS,

1.  Does the OOSS body feel shorter to you?  I know the scale length is 24.75 vs 24.9, but I'm more concerned about the length of the lower bout (from center of waist to endpin).  I keep wondering if the OOSS model is shorter, then my right arm and shoulder might feel more relaxed.  If someone could measure the length for a comparison with my FS830 I'd much appreciate it.

2.  Does the wider upper bout of the OM help bring the neck higher (when you want it higher) because, I imagine, you could place the guitar at a "better" angle so the neck is higher, or is there not much difference?  I keep hearing OOSS models are more comfortable to hold, but worry that when playing seated the neck would be lower.

I'd appreciate any inputs.

I have a big birthday coming up and wanted to purchase an E1OML as it seems to be the only sub £1000 solid wood acoustic for us lefties.

There are a number of retailers in the UK that sell this guitar. I wanted to give my business to my local guitar shop but noticed that they had a higher price than a few other shops. I asked if they could price match and got this response:

Re: The Eastman, I'm obviously keen to get your business but I'm afraid I can't do any better that £525 in the current climate.  Just to give some context to the price difference between us as dealers, my guess is that Coda/Kennys are holding 2020 stock as this model was £499 last year - whereas the units I have are latest 2021 models. 

I could stomach £25 to support a local business but my question actually is are there any differences between these models? A quick glance at the forum shows there is concern over Eastman switching from Nitro finish to Trutone. I wonder if this is the only difference?

Would I be safer going with the older (which happens to be cheaper) model?
