Just curious.  The AD 17 and the AD27  sound pretty good in videos.  Has anyone seen, held or played one?

I was given a set of Elixir Nanoweb Baritone strings, 8-/20 Bronze, .016 -.070 by someone who thought they were regular guitar strings and I could use them. Don't know how old the set is, but the box is unopened (at least by me). Anyone here in the continental U.S. who wants them can have them free. Just PM me your address and I'll send 'em off. They're just taking up space on my desk.

My D18 is so much lighter than my E10OM.  I haven't weighed them but it feels like a big difference. I'm just curious about what would lead to this being so.

I have an interesting dilemma. I recently picked up a Farida OT-22W which is basically an inexpensive Gibson LG-2 clone. I have been looking for something like it but of better quality build and materials. I am trying to stay with a one in, one out policy and the only thing I have that I would consider selling (I am not ready to give up on my new bright AC622CE maple) is my E6D-TC Alpine which I find to be a stellar guitar. Now the BUT - two months ago I finally received an Iris DF. I basically haven't touched the E6 since getting the Iris. What I figured out is I like mahogany, shorter scale, slope shoulder and a little beefier neck. Plus I prefer the slightly smaller body of the slope shoulder over the Martinesque D-14 size.

Now the dilemma - would you sell a guitar that you find is very good if you didn't play it? With the upgrades I put into the E6 there is no way to get all of my money out of it, but that is really not the point. I appreciate any insights or comments. And yes I know - first world problem.

Had some sunshine here today so I took some pictures of my 2013 Eastman E20SS, thought it would maybe interest some people here



Love both the sound and the looks of it. There is some bearclaw figuring on the top which might not be everyone's cup of tea, I really like it though. I don't see a lot of bearclaw in these adirondack tops.

Sound wise this thing is a bell. Lots of overtones and sustain. Maybe too much sometimes ? Got to be mindful about string muting because this thing will ring out for days ! Other strings resonating in sympathy is really prevalent in this guitar. Can be a good thing or a bad thing depending or what you play but it will force you to play clean.

The neck is a nice full C shape, really comfortable. The 1 11/16" nut size can be an issue for some but works well for me. I learned to play acoustic on a Guild F20 which has the same size.

Anyway this has become my main guitar, really in love with it.

Hi everyone. Tom here in South Jersey. So, I'm interested in opinions. First, I will say that I own an Eastman ESS10, 2nd owner via Reverb. I found this forum awhile back as my guitar had developed a curious metallic "ping" on the B string which frankly was making me nuts. Not at all unplayable and player friends of mine either did or did not notice it. I like that guitar so much that I sold the second guitar I ever bought, a Taylor, with no regrets.

But onto the actual question. I have an SB59v on order from a shop in VA. I have no obligation to buy it and can get my very small deposit back with no problem. I put the deposit down in August with the understanding that it would most likely be early '22 before I would have the chance to check it out in person. Anyone not currently living in a cave already understands the supply chain nightmare. Compounding this was the sudden urge for everyone to start playing guitar in April last year. Bye bye inventory.

Now as I've observed the parking lot of ships off every port I've got to thinking (overthinking) do I really want a guitar that's been baking in a shipping container off the California coast for weeks and then sitting on the dock for a few more waiting for a truck?

What do you think? Would you still be interested or wait until '23 or later to get one that moved along relatively quickly from the Eastman shop?

Does anyone here remove the pick guards from their new guitars?

There are a few guys over at The Acoustic Guitar Forum who regularly remove the pick guards from their guitars when they buy them new. I know a few years ago Eastman used to ship their guitars with the pick guard unattached and give the buyer the option of attaching it or not. I’m wondering if any of you guys go so far as to remove yours.

I’m brand new here! Wanting to buy an E1D that has a robust low end and plenty of volume. I tend to favor Rosewood but need a sweet Sapele dread in my life. Thanks!
