Just joined this forum and have a quick question please...
I have purchased my first Eastman (T59v/amb), which will not be with me until November and was wondering what amp would you recommend for use at home? I'd like to do it justice, so your thoughts would be much appreciated. My music style are as follows:- country, blues, rockabilly and rock. Thanks

There seem to be a number of E20-OOs available right now (SS finish). It's been a few years since these had their own thread on this site.  Any thoughts?  Best/worst years?  I might be able to find room for one...

Newbie here.  Veteran player and serious collector as well.  Found a SB55 locally, and besides the incredible deal I got on it, I struck gold with one the original owner had only a few months.   What an amazing instrument to say the least.  I have a 1958 LP Junior as a baseline, but I must say they are really not the same guitar for many reasons.  Readers already familiar with the SB55 are aware the comparisons are slight.  

The Eastman neck is big. Baseball bat big. But super comfortable and welcoming to play.  Finish and hardware speak for themselves and have been discussed many times over from what Ive seen on the net.  Ebony fingerboard is lucious. One piece body and neck... our friends in Nashville charge thousands for that layout.  I will only make one comment on the Lollar.  If you are looking for a screaming P-90 ala Leslie, this isnt the one.  It is a lower wind and more articulate. Chimey in the clean mode, and digs in pretty good dirty, but it is not going to set anything on fire.    Im on the fence about going with a hotter model and will wait until I run it through a few of my different rigs.   Regardless, the 50s wind does a beautiful job.

Im knocked out by the suede like case as well and all the tools for the Faber bridge are included.  I have Faber ABR-1 style bridges on a couple other guitars and love the quality and perfection in intonation properties they offer.  Huge upgrade for any G style guitar.   I think there will continue to be gear snobs by the name on the headstock or country of origin, but take it from a collector that has over 50 vintage and modern guitars including ones built by our friends in Maryland, Nashville, North Carolina etc...  These Eastman guitars are superb in all ways.  Yes, I have played one of their jazz archtops, and also a dual humbucker LP style as well. I would have grabbed the LP (SB59) if it werent for a tight wad seller.   When you can find one that is less than advertised prices, I highly recommend at least getting one in your hands.  Ditch the hype. These are totally legit.

Just did a little tweaking on both of my Eastmans necks and noticed the truss rod is set much deeper in the neck in the E10D than the E20D. Anyone else have these two for comparison? Thanks.

Hi I’m new here, just discovered Eastman on YouTube and I’m very intrigued to say the least. They sound amazing from what I can tell and I’ve been disappointed by Gibson regular line of guitars. I’m looking for a Les paul type so the Eastman sb59 is what I’m looking into. One info I couldn’t find online is whether they use a truss rod cover to sheath the truss rod? 

I know it seems like a detail but I feel like it plays a role in how the guitar feels in terms of vibration.

just someting I noticed recently, now bear in mind, I am just a beginner and started to sing along to simple songs played with simple open chords. so a completely beginner with singing and fairly new Guitar player also. So it might just be me...at this stage of my journey 

I play an E8 OM and a Faith Saturn (Dread) both a Sitka / Rosewood combo (the Faith being Engleman) but that doesn't make the differnce, I belive it is in the long and short scale. 

If I sing with my Faith Dread, it seems my voice and the Guitar are in sync, somehow I feel comfortable to sing along. It seems right, my voice matches the Guitars tone...well at least to me. Might sound aweful for a listener (might have to ask my wife to listen....but give me another couple on months  )

When playing the Eastman OM, it feels off. Hard to describe really. It seems that I try to adjust my voice to the tone of the Guitar, and it just doesn't seem to fit. but this of course, might be my poor playing and obv just starting out with singing.

These are my first steps into singing along. In summary, it feels easier and more natural to sing with my Dread, than the OM. the OM being a bit darker and more mellow, if that makes sense? (same strings on both Guitars) 

Is there guitars that complements your voice better or just gives you a better feeling when singing? strictly talking about hearing yourself while playing and not from recording. guess recording is another level altogether. 

I am curious to hear your thoughts and experiences.

also, please tell me if I am way off here, and this is just me and due to me being a beginner.

So I just wanted to post this since I’m sure there are others like me. I have GAS. All the doggone time. GAS. GAS. GAS. I have owned quite a few guitars. I think I am at 27 last I counted. All but a couple are over $1000 guitars. Only three currently though. I am always looking for the ONE. Turns out…I have the one. It’s an Eastman E10om. It is AMAZING.

But….for some reason I see all these fancy names…Martin, Taylor, Larrivee, Furch, etc….and I buy them. I play them against my E10om and womp womp womp… the Eastman is better, usually by a country mile… how can this be?!? I got it used for $800 bucks….surely it can’t be that good. Just bought and resold a Martin 000-18 within 6 days because it failed the comparison…I made a hundred bucks so that was fine.

My E6D-TC….mopped the floor with a D-18 I bought to see if it was an upgrade…. Nope.

My E10ooss/v….I should have never sold it. Haven’t found a smaller body that was near as good.

I’m buying a new AC522ce today over another Martin or Taylor or Larrivee because it is not only cheaper but IMO better looking and sounding.

I’ll probably pick up a E10ss/v because I won’t find a better dread…

I know a lot of you (myself included) have other guitars from these makers that we love. And that is fine. Variety is the spice of life… it for those thinking Eastman is a stepping stone or a ‘budget version’ until you can get ‘the real thing’. I think you will be highly disappointed by the ‘real thing’ just like I have.
