Just bought this guitar said new on site. Certificate has date of 2017. I understand that these guitars are hand rubbed. Mine looked dull. Tried buffing out a little with a clean t-shirt. Anybody out there to share any cleaning or polishing?

I have an AC122-1CE with a Sitka top and Sapele sides and back. I play mostly rhythm guitar and would like to find a way to substantially reduce the brightness of the sound.  I switched to the Ernie Ball Earthwood Silk and Steel strings but that did not seem to help much.  Are there any suggestions of other things to try?

I wanted to start a thread dedicated to the Eastman Double Top series - a model I am fascinated with.

Has anyone had a chance to play one yet? Would love to gather more information on this thread. I’m curious if the guitar really does sound louder, and what other benefits the DT brings to a steel string guitar.

This E20OM-TC on youtube, recorded by "Guitars For Trade", a retailer, sounded too good to be reality. So I sent the retailer a question, assuming it was recorded on an expensive condenser mic and then embellished with some DAW software like Cubase or.... He said it was recorded onto his iphone with no post recording EQ or software. This might be a descent guitar???

I spotted a nice looking (and quite cheap) Guild F130 guitar for sale. Is anyone in a position to give me their view of how it compares with the E6OM? For the (very?) few of you who don't know, they are both solid mahogany B&S Sitka top 000/OM guitars.

How come nobody is selling their E40OM or E20OM-TC ???
I'd really like to have one, either one, I'm not fussy. You should get the dread and sell your OM to me, please....

Two years ago today, my Eastman journey officially began with the arrival of my 2016 E40D.  This one set the standard, and although the others all have their own voice, this one remains special.  This weekend, I changed the strings, cleaned the fretboard, and gave it a little Lizard Spit for good measure.

I realize that some of you have been aboard the Eastman train for a lot longer than I, but I'm definitely enjoying the ride.

I've been following a thread on another forum, about this topic, which applies to me right where I am. The initial responses agreed with each other, learn songs, lots of songs, and the requirements in those songs, will force you to learn and build a tool box of valuable techniques and skills. Then, later responses started to emphasize learning theory and scales and reading music and "you won't regret it". It's kind of like politics or religion or economics or romance issues, if you ask a question, you get a wide variety of responses, so you decide to struggle thru and learn by trial and failure and successes. 

I like the idea of learning songs, this also provides quick motivation to continue and practice more and allows one to perform sooner (more motivation). I'm going to focus on preparing songs for performance in a local cafe, where performers play for 15 minutes per set. With this process, I think you begin to "sense" music theory, and then, when you decide to learn more theory, you are convinced of the value of theory, you can feel it's function and application and value and thus, are motivated to learn and apply theory.

I think most folks have to either be very motivated or forced (by parents) to spend a lot of time on music theory in the beginners phase.Years ago, there was a popular piano instruction method (Suzuki Method) where absolute beginners learned songs from the first day, not extremely easy songs, and theory was introduced later, once the student had some "momentum" and confidence.

$550 plus shipping from Danville CA. I am selling my Eastman E6D. This is a great Hog Dread. Loud, crisp, deep. It was between this and my Eastman AC515. I decided to keep the AC515. So of this E6D goes. It is in excellent condition. 

The Eastman sound is like a merger of Taylor and Martin. If you know Eastman's you know what I mean, if you don't then jump on the Eastman bandwagon, they are keepers.
