So. I went onto Eastman's site because I wanted to know more about the nut width of the smaller models. Apparently the necks of all OO's and P's are the same. However, I distinctly remember trying a small-body Eastman last year and it having a really much fatter neck than the other ones I was trying. I'm.. kind of thinking it was the E10, not sure if it was the OO or the P. Does anyone know what's going on? And why they're no all the same?

All Hog Goodness here! Beautiful flamed mahogany…looks amazing! Recent setup and excellent condition, always humidifed. Great playability and spades of tone to match. Comes with original hard case also in excellent condition. To my ears and fingers, this is best all hog you can buy for the money. Has opened up nicely and plays like a dream. Soundwise…really warm and comfortable….makes you feel like you are wrapped up in a blanket…way you really want mahogany to sound but so much more. Quality, fit, finish, and sound like a boutique guitar costings several thousand more.

Awesome guitar!

Anybody make tiny tweaks that make your Eastman play better?

My 14mos old E20OM-TC is as good as they come, but.... needed a tiny tweak.

Problem:  maybe one player in a zil would even notice but when I would hammer on in the first position on the 3rd (G) string.... no sustain, great sustain with the other 5 strings.  Setup is spot-on at 12th fret and relief.  Could the fret be too low in that position?  No way or all 6 strings would have the problem.
 
Had to get in the tech weeds to figure this one out.  Started reading master luthier Bryan Kimsey and measuring with automotive 1/1000" feeler gauges etc.  Turned out the nut slot of the 3rd string was .002" high.   2/1000" is tiny..... but huge.

For sale is an Eastman E20OM guitar in excellent cosmetic and playing condition. It has a beautiful sunburst finish, and a solid Adirondack Spruce top with solid Rosewood back and sides. The Adirondack/Rosewood combination produces a very pleasing articulate tone. To me the sunburst is very unique on this guitar. I've never seen another Eastman with this color sunburst finish. It is a brownish color around the edge of the top instead of black. You guys know the rave reviews on these guitars.

My name is Dan and I'm a long time Eastman guitar owner!

My first Eastman was an AR805ce, bought used in (or around) 2005. I was amazed by this thing. It had a big, acoustic sound. I was able to use it in jazz duo and trio settings without an amp. Ultimately, I stopped doing these small duo/trio, acoustic jams and needed something that would be a better fit in a full band electrically/amplified without feeding back...and moved on from the AR805.

My second Eastman was an El Rey 2 bought new from Jeff Hale's shop in 2006. It was one of the first ones and had a very early serial number (I think it was 003 IIRC?). I actually had Otto D'Ambrosio do a setup on it because at the time he had a shop in Providence, RI which isn't far from where I live. This guitar worked very well in large jazz group settings. But then I got the urge for a wider body, little more traditional type jazz guitar and moved on from the El Rey 2.

My third Eastman, of which I still have, was an AR403 bought in late 2012 from Bernunzio music shop. This guitar has been a jazz workhorse for me and has seen alot of gigs. I love the size...it's thin enough to be comfortable yet has enough depth to give a full hollow body jazz guitar type tone from Grant Green to Peter Bernstein. I'm playing less straight ahead jazz these days, but I still have the AR403 as my jazz axe.

My fourth Eastman, of which I still have, was an T386 bought in 2014 from Bernunzio music shop. I love this ting and it has been a workhorse for me in my funk, non-straight ahead jazz, and rock bands and gigs. I had no real problem with it stock, yet gear GAS made me replace all the electronics and I went with Gibson 57 Classic pickups. The guitar is fantastic and one of my favorite I've ever had. These days, I'm wondering if there's an Eastman that might be a step up from my T386 though. Like the T59, T186, etc.

I have an E40d that has a three piece neck like all the other E series D style Eastman’s I have seen.
All of the photos I see of E40 models show what looks like a two piece neck with an ebony stripe down the middle.
When I asked eastmanabout it they didn’t really give me much of ananswer.
My guitar was made dec 15 2016.
All of the photos of guitars I fend on the internet are newer.
Any one here have a E40d like mine that has a neck with no ebony stripe down the center?
It is c shaped and the long shaft is really really figured. Maybe that’s why it’s not cut down the middle to make a two piece.
