Bassface 732's thread gave me a idea . My 484 is listed for trade , not any response. I don't want to sell and it really is a fine guitar . It sounds good and if o didn't have so many other guitars I would be more then happy . It sound similar to my 386 and even has a little similarity to my SB 59. That's the problem , I like my Guitar's to each have there own voice different than one another. This guitar is beautiful and plays great , but if I'm going to keep it I want it to sound different then it does now .
I should have purchased the 56 gold top with p90's but not into the patina thing and I have a Gibson or two with p90's . Please share any pickup ideas you might have ? Oh I will try some different magnets that I learned about on here . But if you can think of pickups to give this guitar a voice away from the PAF sound and different then say phat cats that would be great !

Amazon seems to post some crazy prices on guitars.  I've gotten a few for what seems like cost or half price, including the recent Blueridge BR-240A that Zissou Intern also owns.

Currently, there's a BR-260A on Amazon for about $1000, which is the Rosewood/Adi version.  Musician's Friend has it listed for $2150, so this seems like a steal.  MSRP price is $2450.  Maybe someone here will get it before the price doubles again.

I must ask... has anyone here played a Lowden or maybe even owned one? I played a variety at the Acoustic Vibes shop in Tempe... they really are incredible, especially for a fingerstyle player. The tone was really special. Would love to hear if anyone else here on EGF has had any experience with the brand?

Hi folks! Im a 65 year old (retired video editor) and life long guitarist. In the last year Ive expanded my musical scope from rock / blues electric guitar to now include Vintage Blues performance and recording (finger style bottleneck guitar and acoustic finger style guitar). Its been a great year of leaning new styles to enjoy the guitar with.

This next year Ive decided to add a hint of Jazz to my skills. Which will probably end up being (hopefully) a nice fusion of rock and jazz. Im not really a big jazz fan, but I want to add some spice to my improvising and comping abilities.

My limited experience with jazz was a year at Berklee College  of Music, where I quickly discovered that the fun of just expressing myself  with blues licks was replaced with classes that felt more like math and science class. It just didnt work for me. Im very glad it didn't since it launched me into pursing what ended up being a 35 year career as a video editor at high end facilities.

Before my question, a little background: I am primarily a rock player, and recently started getting into playing jazz. Earlier in the year, I set out to buy a guitar that could serve as my jazz guitar, but still make a suitable backup to my main rock guitar- something like an ES335. I wound up getting an Eastman T386, and I love it!! In my opinion it feels noticeably better than the 335, and the neck pickup has a great smooth tone that sounds great for playing jazz, all at a fraction of the cost of the Gibson.

Having played the heck out of this guitar for several months now, here is my only concern: While the neck pickup gives me the exact tone I’m looking for for Jazz, the other pickup settings are pretty unsatisfying for me. In my opinion the bridge pickup sounds too dark, and doesn’t sound different enough from the neck pickup- the middle position is almost indistinguishable from the neck.

If it’s possible, I’d really like to get a brighter rock tone at the bridge (and hopefully a little blusier, funkier tone in the middle position). I feel like the 335 has the versatility that I’m looking for, and since the construction is fairly similar in these two guitars, it might be possible to achieve something like this on my T386 if I change one or both of the pickups?

What do you all think? Is it possible to keep the tone of the neck pickup that I love so much and get a little more versatility for rock playing in the other positions? If so, should I keep the neck pickup and just replace the bridge pickup, or am I better off replacing both? I’d love to hear all your thoughts!

Just purchased (both used) an HE-222CE and an E20-OO-SS, both from Reverb.
Both arriving sometime next week.
I haven't owned an acoustic guitar in 20-ish years.
My last acoustic was an Ovation Legend.
So, the interest hit me and I ran the racks at my local Eastman dealer and took notes.
They blew away nearly everything else there.
I had never played an Eastman before then, but the awareness of quality was immediate.
Count me as both Total believer and fan-boy.
I also picked up a La Patrie Presentation nylon, also from Reverb.
I have however, have been building my own electrics for about ~25 years.

This is my first cedar-topped steel string guitar. The only other cedar guitars that I have owned have been nylon string classical guitars. So I was intrigued at the introduction of an Eastman cedar-topped steel string guitar. I have owned a number of Eastman guitars. Currently, I own an E10OM, a PCH1-D-CLA, an E1D, E20D/AC420 Hybrid (https://www.eastmanguitarfans.com/Thread...AC420-E20D), an E8D, E10D, an AC515, and now an E2OM-CD.

I have owned many Eastmans, a few Martins, and even a couple of Collings guitars along with several strats, a few semi-hollow bodies, and three bass guitars. Suffice it to say that I like Eastman guitars and consider them to be among the best “bang-for-your-buck” guitars available. I received the E2OM-CD from LA Guitar Sales on 11/07/2019 via UPS. It had been well packed, was in perfect order, and was well set up. I would describe the appearance as simple, tasteful, and well crafted. The solid sapele back and sides have a satin, open-pore finish and, on this particular example, look more like mahogany than most of the sapele I’ve seen on other guitars. The overall workmanship is excellent and very clean, inside and out. The top looks very much like spruce but darker in color than spruce and it has a nice, tight grain pattern under a satin finish.

The sound is surprisingly close to that of the E10OM (Adi-spruce), though with a little less projection. The sound is warm and well balanced, a finger-style player’s delight that also responds well to a light-to-medium attack with a pick. It came with D’Addario .012-.053 #EXP16 strings which sounded good, but I switched them out for Ernie Ball Aluminum/Bronze Light 11-52 strings. I really like the EBs for OM and smaller guitars because they seem more balanced to my ears. I am quite happy with this purchase and suspect that you will be as well. The E2OM-CD is a lovely, well-crafted, well-balanced instrument that will provide many years of enjoyment to those who like cedar-topped guitars.

 This guitar is brand is new has a very small blemish on the finish (see pictures). It came from Eastman that way and it is going to be returned but we thought I'd offer it up here in case someone would be interested in buying it at a discount.
