I have owned both spruce/rosewood guitar and spruce/mahogany guitars, and (to my ear, anyway) the difference is that mahogany is warmer and gives more of the fundamental tone of the note, while rosewood is brighter and there are overtones to the notes that aren't present in mahogany.

I like both, honestly. It just depends on what you want.

Was wondering if anyone would want Eastman in guitar center or sam Ash ? I like supporting a small retailer but being left handed makes it so hard sometimes . When you have to buy sight unseen and don't like it most of the time your stuck with it . Not a big deal on something for $25. But $1,200 to $3,000. For your average Eastman makes it hard to take a chance sometimes.
I have a left handed friend that buys from guitar center all the time and returns what he doesn't like. It costs him $20. In shipping . I've never bought unless I really want something and hope for the best . Eastman has been great producing left-handed guitars for us , now if they can find away to get them in are hand's to try before we buy ?

I have 3 acoustics already and do not need another.

Although I tend to focus on acoustic guitars, and always have, I do pick up an electric guitar now and again. I own a very cheap 'no brand' Strat and a cheap Harley Benton ES335 copy. I was wondering what practice amps members use. I personally own a Roland Micro Cube (combo), which meets my needs for the odd bit of noodling. It is small, fairly cheap and can emulate a number of generic amp types - not brilliantly well - but well good enough for me in my home. I was wondering what other members use.

Imagine my surprise at finding an Eastman Forum - had no idea until now. I own an AR804 and an AR810. I would like to find an Eastman mandocello, and an El Rey - all in good time. I know it's all good.

I have been repairing and building string instruments for over 40 years. I was a Fender and a Gibson repair tech in a large music store in Wichita, KS for a long time. I supposedly retired to my home, and yet - I am buried under work, clients and my own projects.

I am also into old cars - especially Studebakers, and I love Bonneville salt racing. Hope I find a comfy niche here, if you'll have me!

Hey everyone, I’m wondering where I can get an Eastman compensated saddle replacement for my E10D-TC? I was lowering the saddle and went too far on the treble side. (I just couldn’t leave it well enough alone!) Now I have buzzing no matter which guitar I swap out the saddle on. (You win some and loose some I guess...)

Normally, I would just shim it, but this one is touching a piezo LR Baggs Anthem pickup so I need direct contact. Time for a new saddle.

Where can I get another 1.75in saddle that will fit the radius of my Eastman?

Howdy, all! I purchased my first Eastman yesterday at the recommendation of friend. I've been familiar with Eastman guitars for a while and decided on the E1OM. I currently own a Martin 000-28 that I've had for years. However, I wanted a guitar with a pickup system so I could run it into the Mesa Boogie Rosette Two:Eight I just bought. I also wanted one that I could take places and not be so worried about it. I wanted to put my own electronics in it so I got a LR Baggs Anthem system with the Microphone/Undersaddle set up along with the Venue preamp. The friend that recommended this guitar is a luthier and he will be installing the pickups and setting it up proper for fingerstyle. I've looked around a little and there isn't a lot of chatter on this particular guitar. Thanks for having me. I'm looking forward to getting acquainted with the group.
