Thanks

E10OM and E10OOSS necks chunkier than dreads?
Posted by: Greg1075 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (5)

I currently own an E6SS that I’m planning to sell because the neck is too big for my arthritic wrist. I was considering a smaller body, like the E10OM or E10OOSS, but I just read that the necks on those two models are actually chunkier than the one on the E6SS. Is that right?

  OM or OOSS?
Posted by: Greg1075 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (1)

I've been wanting a small bodied guitar for a while. I want something more comfortable and easier to play.

The Martin 000-15SM is a great guitar but a bit out of my price range, plus I already own a D-15 and I'd feel a bit silly owning both for some (perhaps stupid) reason. On the Eastman side, my shortlist includes the E10OOSS, E10OOSS/v as well the E10OM and E10OM TC. I also like the E15SS, but that was a limited custom series somewhat hard to come across on the used market.

I'd like to retain as much bass response as possible. How do the E10OOSS and E10OM compare in that department? Are there notable differences in terms of tonal balance, note separation, projection, comfort, etc.?

Thanks.

  E10SS vs E6SS-TC
Posted by: Achille17 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (2)

I've already got an E10SS and as I spotted a great offer for a E6SS-TC, I wonder if it's worth it. I mean do they sound differently enough to justify a new guitar?

  Eastman 6D 12 string question
Posted by: ParlorGoblin - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (2)

Hi Folks

I'm a recent Eastman convert and proud owner of an Eastman E20P. I've been playing for about 18 months making decent and steady progress, and feel ready to jump into my first 12 string. I've got an opportunity to buy an Eastman 6D 12 string in great condition made around 2019

I'm interested to hear any feedback, ie is it a decent model that will last (or is it a 6 string design with 12 strings that i should avoid). The AC330 12 string is too big to be comfortable for me, so I am looking at other Eastman options.

I'd also be interested to hear views on the 1D 12 string.

Many thnx

Possible trade. '22 E6D-TC Alpine for...
Posted by: dmoss74 - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (1)

Hi,

I have a mint condition E6D-TC (Alpine spruce top) that I really like, but have come to the realization that dreadnaughts (25.5" SL) are just too much guitar for my age.

I have an E10SS-TC that I love, and would like to trade my E6D for an E6SS. I also believe that Sitka is more my style of top wood.

I've heard claims that the Alpine lies somewhere between adi and sitka, tonally, but to my ears, it leans more to the Adi side. This one does not compress when pushed hard like Sitka does. It sounds fantastic, and I can send recorded snippets of it if you'd like.

The E6D is in immaculate condition, as I'd expect the E6SS to be. I have the case, plus everything that came with it. It was purchased from the acoustic shoppe, and has their little Alpine flyer they put in the case., and even one of their picks.

It would be best if the trade was done somewhere west of the Mississippi, to avoid excessive shipping costs. I am in SoCal, if anyone is local to there.

I might also consider a trade for an E8OM. It doesn't have to be a TC version, just a really nice one.

thanks

Please Help Identify my Archtop Model
Posted by: SouthPaw - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (2)

So some years back, unable to buy an AR372CEL, I found an AR905CE-L second-hand. The chap I bought it from was honest and sincere and really friendly, I've no call to doubt him at all!

The original tailpiece had been replaced with a gold-plated heavy, soft iron, compensated harp type thing (compensated the wrong way). Now replaced with an original r/h till I can get a left fabricated Smile
The floating pickup had Eastman embossed on but upside down - I don't know if that meant it'd been replaced or Eastman used the same floating pickups on left and right-handers. Replaced with a Kent Armstrong hand-wound resurrected by Dan Armstrong

The volume pot seems to be logarithmic as it's more of an on-off switch, they're advertised as linear. Working on that!

Those things are just life for a lefty.

What troubles me is the "sharpie shenanigans" going on, on the label, someone's over-written the model number - has anyone seen something like this before? If could be a fake, but Left-handed guitars take longer to sell, it might be a different model - my Eastman knowledge is not all that Smile

Trying to add a photo Smile

I've got an AR372 as well now and I've decided to keep both and sell about 5 other guitars instead Big Grin they're both keepers!

First Eastman Acoustic - ac622ce KOA and WOW
Posted by: Trock85 - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (3)

Hi Everyone

First post here, just received my very first Eastman guitar from Sweetwater this week and all I can say is WOW!

Been playing 40 years now, electric and acoustic and write and record my own material. Mostly in the vein of Americana (Mellencamp, petty, others) so acoustic and electric are both featured prominently.

I have had lot of acoustics over the years and spent little and lots on different ones. I had a custom Taylor once, maybe 15 years ago that was about 5K, and it was one of if not the nicest acoustics I ever had. Just brilliant tone, balance, playability etc

have also had my trusty 314 ce for 30 years? Beat up and ugly now but such a fav

anyway, when I saw this Eastman on sweetwater I initially didn’t look at the price because I thought oh wow, the leaf inlay (high I love because autumn is my fav time of year), the beauty, the build etc must be 8K or something

i glanced down and couldn’t believe it

the first time in my life a guitars LOOK said I have it have this, so I bought it untried (they do give you 30 days but I knew I was keeping this).

it came and I unboxed it and I was just so blown away, pics never do a guitar justice no matter what you have or are getting.

the case was also very nice. I picked it up and it was in tune, sweetwater does a very nice job usually of checking and setting up guitars

anyway, the first strum and pick were enough t give me chills, it just boomed in a good way, crips highs and low bottom BOTH

i just kept playing and playing, I hadn’t played much the past few years (life etc)

and it was like I was 16 again.

love this guitar and ams so blow away by Eastman. Are all like this??

I switched to a beautiful Breedlove acoustic a while back form my normal Taylor’s and some other custom brands and that is also beautiful, so I fell that Eastman and Breedlove may just be hidden gems.

thanks for listening lol, and thanks for letting me be here
