Question - has anyone had experience of removing a pickguard from a Truetone Gloss finish? Any problems? Thanks.

Thinking about purchasing the Eastman E10D-TC this will be my first Eastman guitar was wondering what everyones opinion is on this guitar Im thinking of buying this over the Martin D18

I posted this on a different thread as follow up to my experience with Martin MA540FX (Martin Tommy's Choice PB Lights). Then I realized there was more to the story, so I thought I would start a thread on nickel strings. Previously I didn't like nickel strings. Now it seems that they may work depending on the guitar and model. I would welcome thoughts by others. Thanks. 

One more follow-up. I took the Tommy strings off of my Martin OM-18V. Again the only reason is that I thought the guitar had more to offer. I put on a set of Martin Retro 12-54. They are made from Monel steel - nickel/copper alloy. Over the last year or so I have been trying more nickel/nickel alloy strings. Originally I did not like them because to me they sounded a little zingy and metallic at first. I never had the patience to leave them on past a few days. Now I just throw a Tone Traveler on for a couple of days and it takes the zing right out of them. IMHO - the monels are a more suitable string for this guitar. They have better volume, more balanced and not as strong in the over-tones. Eventually I will get around to trying a set of DR Rares on this guitar, but for now the Retros are more than acceptable.

As a side note - I am trying a set of John Pearse Pure Nickel mediums on an Atkin 000-37 (torrefied Sitka/Rosewood). The Atkin has the aged finish - very finely checked. It has an almost broken in tone to it. The Pure Nickels are perfect for this guitar. The mediums give up very good bass with a nice sparkle to the trebles. The overtones aren't over powering. It just suits that old broken in tone. I have also used D'Addario's Nickel Bronze 12-53 on my Eastman E20SSv.(It's kind of for sale if anyone is interested). The NBs really brought out some good old almost Gibsonish tone on this guitar. That is three different guitars with nickel alloy strings that I previously never liked. Maybe my preferences are changing. Or my hearing.

Fellow Eastman Fans, what can you tell me about these three guitars? I may buy one more Eastman in my lifetime. I started with a Montgomery Wards Airline acoustic archtop in 1964 at age 13. I'm quite sure it was built by Kay Guitars. I traded that off for a Gibson Kalamazoo electric two years later. So, I haven't had an acoustic archtop in a very long time. Electric archtops, yup, but no jazzer's. 
  I currently have an E1SS-CLA-LTD, E40D clear, AC722 Dakota burst, AC622 clear, E6D-TC with Schertler pickup, and an E10SS-TC. Been an all Eastman acoustic guy for a few years now. 
  I play Beatles stuff and other music from my younger days. I'm more of a noodler than a real player. Have always yearned to have a better 'ear' than I've ever had. So, I'm looking for something different than what I have. Guitar size may be an issue. Sixteen inch lower bout size is not an issue. But would 17 inch be an issue? 
  Dave's Guitar in Wisconsin had an AR805 that they took in on-trade. I inquired about it and the next day I read the reply and the guitar was sold. Music Villa in Bozeman has a new AR805 in Goldburst in stock. Beautiful guitar! Django Books in Seattle has an AR610 in stock. They sell archtops only it would appear. AC630's are available from a number of dealers, including my favorite dealer 'The Acoustic Shoppe' in Springfield. Wish they carried acoustic archtops!
  So, to you folks that have any of these three guitars or have played them, what can you tell about them? What do you like, what don't you like?   Thanks, Bob

Can anyone verify the size of the saddles on the E10SS-TC? This is a '24 model that I just bought. I want to get one that I can sand down further, while leaving the original taller, in case I end up liking that.

I emailed MaNichol on ebay, and he said to verify. They have both 69mm and 71mm for sale. 

I don't have my caliper on hand today, and don't want to remove the saddle right now.

If anyone knows the dims, I'd appreciate the info.

I also have a mid 10s E6OM, and an AC 420 from the same era, if anyone knows those sizes as well.

I have 3 Eastman guitars at the moment and im looking to purchase the PCH 2 GACE NAT but have just viewed one on the web that is down as rosewood but never seen anything like it, i know its not Koa so does anyone have any ideas ?

Hi all. I’m moving out of state and selling my guitar collection. So I’m needing help on pricing some Eastman guitars to sell. I have two E20D’s an E8OM aE10OM and a E10SS all are in excellent condition. Thoughts on what I should price them? Thanks Al.

So it comes as no surprise that I love my E40OM short scale, Adirondack/Rosewood dove tail neck joint with Nitro finish. I was always intrigued by the E40OM-TC made in ‘21 on a limited basis. These are long scale, bolt on necks, Torrefied Adirondack/Rosewood with TrueTone finish. I never got around to trying the new one.
On Monday I received an email asking if I wanted to sell the 2018. I declined. Then I saw an ad for the ‘21 available for pick-up in Chicago. As luck would have it, I had a trip to Chicago Tuesday. I met up with the seller and bought it. Sold the 2018 at the same time. I am shipping the 2018 tonight. Before I do I plan to do a quick comparison between the two. Sorry for the click bait post but more to come.

Hi, I am looking at buying an AC322CE here in the uk. Is it possible to tell the latest model by looking at the fretboard inlays? Which year did they start to put the Hurricane? Inlays at the 7th and 12th frets?
I have noticed that there are not many available. In fact the shop in Epsom seems to have the only one available at the moment. Could it be a dud?
