Just read that Country Joe McDonald has died. Frequently controversial but with a big heart I'm surprised at how sad I am. Although never that big commercially he was well known and influential during the late sixties and seventies with his folk and protest songs and causes. At Woodstock (1969) he was persuaded to do an impromptu set on a borrowed Yamaha FG-150 with a rope for a strap when the Incredible String Band refused to play in the rain. Turned out to be an iconic performance.

Anyone here have an AC #0001-0010? Did they maybe begin in 2005? My 07’ is 1735, that sounds like a lot of guitars before 2007 then considering the website says they started 2008..

FOTA currently have several Bourgeois guitars in store - they certainly know a quality guitar when they see one lol. I would love to get me mitts on one or two of these, including the LD BO Standard - but the white pick guard would have to go ha ha!

I finally got my first eastman, an E8OM-TC used off of reverb from 2024. Could anyone tell me if there’s anything to be concerned about as far as condition goes? it has a slight sort of chemical and paint reminiscent smell towards The sound hole. I wouldn’t be worried if it was brand new but it isn’t, also the finish on the neck seems a bit dusty looking towards the back of the headstock and at the bottom of the neck, idk how to describe it, almost like it was sprayed recently or maybe just extra when it was made? Is this normal?
ps i’ve never seen an eastman in person before so I have no idea what is normal

I purchased a used AC422CE  that I absolutely love, but it doesn't have a pickguard and from the looks of the finish, there was never a pickguard on the guitar.

Do some models come from the factory without pickguards?

Ciao, volevo cambiare i piroli della mia AC422ce che sono in plastica. Lo volevo prendere in ebano con intarsi in ebalone. Non riesco a trovarli, dovrebbero essere di 5 gradi quindi 5,3mm ma alcuni negozianti mi vogliono rifilare quelli da 3 gradi tipo quelli della Taylor. Qualcuno mi può dire esattamente quanto misurano e dove posso trovarli. Grazie!

I first heard this played on a train journey bout 60 years ago. Guy was carrying a guitar and I asked him what he played and he played this, as it should be played - finger picked on solo guitar. I asked him to play it again and again and again - but on the fourth  time of asking he demurred. It led me to the Reverend Gary Davis - master of the Piedmont blues and much more.
