When did Eastman shift the bracing forward?

Wink Eastman SB55/V - New Faber Bridge Design?
Posted by: MKStrummer - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (2)

Hi all,

My first post on here and great to find this site.  After years of variable Gibsons, I'm looking at buying a SB55/V and notice many of the new ones seem to now have the Faber Wraptonate bridge (with individual string saddles) rather than the previous more traditional Faber Wraparound intonated bridge.  Also the newer ones (which seem to retail at close to double the cost) appear at more of a slanted angle than the earlier ones.

To me, the earlier Wraparounds are of course more authentic to a Junior but presumably Eastman had good reason for the change.  Both bridges individually still available through Faber so it doesn't seem like there were supply issues of the Wraparounds.

Any views very much appreciated thank you :-)

AC 222 CE or maybe a E1 OMCE
Posted by: Johbren - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

As you can see in my signature im adicted to the AC line. I been thinking  of getting A 222ce because of the ovangcol back and sides but the e1OMCE has caught my eye. I dont own a Om guitar I know they are smaller but how do they compare to a AC guitar?

  E6SS-TC - mint with upgrades
Posted by: Greg1075 - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (1)

2022 model. The guitar sounds great and is in mint condition. It was upgraded with Gotoh SXB510 tuners and a Holter pickguard. Everything was professionally installed.

The neck is a bit too chunky for me, which is why I’m selling it. It comes with its original case and original Ping tuners.

Price: $900+ shipping (lower 48 states only)

Pictures: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/x1h3li3xi...17i9&dl=0

EDIT - prices lowered from $1,000 to $900.

date differential coa vs serial #
Posted by: dmoss74 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (3)

hi,

what's the biggest disparity any of you have seen between the coa date (written on in Pomona), vs the actual serial number?

i just acquired an e8OM with a coa date of 3-24, but the serial # starts with M22XXXXXX.

two years is a large time span.

has anyone ever inquired of eastman what it is up with that? i'm wondering if they sit in the warehouse that long, or if they ship them out later than the manufacture date.

thanks for any input.

YOU ARE CONSIDERING A NEAR NEW EASTMAN E40OO.

I GOT THIS GUITAR JUST BEFORE I GOT A CANCER DIAGNOSIS. I HAVE HAD MONTHS OF SURGERIES AND RECOVERY AND NEED TO SELL SOME GUITARS. IT HAS SPENT THE TIME I HAVE OWNED IN ITS CASE WITH HUMIDIPAKS.

LOOKING FOR A GOOD HOME.  I PAID $2600 WOULD LIKE TO $2100.  I WOULD TAKE PAYMENT VIA PAYPAL AND I WOULD PAY THE GOODS AND SERVICE FEE AND SHIP ANYWHERE IN USA FREE.

  Eastman Truss rod Allen wrench
Posted by: Al30906 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (5)

Anyone else feel like the supplied truss rod wrench does not fit properly, as in to small? Mine seems to have a lot of play, I own several Eastman guitars and they are all pretty much the same. Thanks Al

E6D-TC Alpine top or Sitka Top
Posted by: Jopetto - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (5)

Hi all...

I'm new to the Eastman world with a purchase of a E6D-TC Serial Number M2220029. Martins have been my preoccupation and currently own an 1999 OM 28 Custom along with a Backpacker and a 2004 000-16GT which I traded in a couple of year ago. I have owned Gibsons and Taylors along the way as well and am extremely happy with the quality of my new Eastman Acquisition. My question is this, the top Tonewood is very light and much lighter than any other guitar I've owned. i learned that some E6D-TC have Alpine Tops vs. Sitka. This topic appears ad nauseum so appreciate your patience. I got two responses from Eastman Client Service. The first is that my serial number confirms Sitka and the second says that there was no way to tell per my Serial Number. I understand the Covid era window and the lack of a Sitka supply, however can anyone confirm the possibility that this Dreadnaught has an Alpine Spruce top? Looking at serial numbers close to mine. Thank you in advance.

  E10OOSS vs E10OOSS/v
Posted by: Greg1075 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (2)

Still researching Eastman’s small-bodied guitars. Unfortunately, the largest and best-stocked Eastman dealer in my area has closed permanently, and I’m not sure if any other nearby stores have them readily available to try out... I’ve tried searching for more information online, but haven’t found anything that clearly highlights the tonal differences between the two models. I’m aware of the differences in materials and specs, but I’m not sure how they manifest in sound. I assume that the thinner varnished adi top on the /v model might produce a more powerful and brasher tone compared to the regular gloss version? If that's the case, it might not suit my preferences as I prefer a sweeter, warmer sound that I can sing over.

Cheers
