Posted by: UncleJesse - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (2)

For sale is a 2020 Eastman E10D-TC. I recently got a Collings D1A so I'm wanting to try out some Rosewood dreadnoughts so this is on the selling block. This is super loud and resonant. Only mods are Holter Pickguard and strap button. EGF Price of $1100 and buyer to cover PP fees, shipping to lower 48 is included at no extra charge.

Pleaset let me know if you'd like any additional pictures or measurements.  This guitar is very clean.  Only light pickguard swirls and slight handling marks in nitro.  No dings or dents that I can see.

Here's a video of me playing Jason Isbell's Cigarettes and Wine on this guitar.

A fun little $9 project for your Eastman
Posted by: Jklotz - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (17)

I bought some bone pins off of amazon for $9 and dropped them in my E20-OM. It sounds a little brighter now, a tad less low end and maybe a little clearer in the mids. I'll give it a day or two to settle in and see which I prefer. It may end up being a combination of the two?

Anyway, I don't want to get into the whole "bridge pin debate", just thought I'd pass it along. Some may prefer the look even if they don't hear a difference, and, hey, what else can you do to your guitar (other than change strings) for $9?

There are a few of us who are curious about the Schatten HFN for our Eastman acoustics. Anybody have experience with them? If so, please share your thought and impressions. Thanks!

  E20OM vs E8OM
Posted by: dmack4/20 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (18)

I am in the market for a concert/000 style guitar. I see a couple Eastmans that interest me. The 20Om and the e80 seem quite similar. Both are rosewood back and sides. Spruce tops. I think one is Sitka spruce and the other is Adirondack. Am I correct about this? Any other differences.

  Is this E1OM Legit?
Posted by: jb6024 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

Hey guys, longtime follower but this is my first time posting -- apologies if this is in the wrong section. I've been looking for an E1OM for a few months now, and this guitar just popped up near me. I've never seen an E1OM with inlays on the headstock and bridge, or with a pickup installed stock like this one has. The owner attached a COA, which says it was made late last year.

Has anyone ever seen an E1OM with these features? Thanks for your help.

  T484 vs T486
Posted by: LeftFrank - Forum: Eastman Electric and Archtop Guitars - Replies (9)

Hey All!

First post here.

I am considering the T484 as well as the T486, and hoping to get some opinions here regarding comparison of these 2 models.

I already have a 16" 335 clone, an Ibanez Artcore AS73L, although I suspect the T486 would be a marked improvement on that. So I was considering the T484 for its smaller size and is about 1 pound lighter too.

I am also interested in how these 2 models compare in terms of getting a good jazz tone. I know neither would get close to a full size jazz archtop, but I have heard a couple of YouTubes with jazz being played on the T486, and its pretty nice. Wondering if the T484 might be a step back from that, or pretty much the same.

Thanks!
LeftFrank (yes, I play left handed)

Anyone install a LR Baggs Anthem in their Eastman?
Posted by: Rad - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (15)

Yup, I know you can get an Eastman with the system already installed, I did not get one of those.

I’m considering putting one in my new E20 D-TC

I picked up a stunning little Fishman Loudbox  Mini Charge w/bluetooth

  Nitro finish
Posted by: RoyBoy - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (15)

I have a new E20D-TC which I am thoroughly enjoying. It's my first rosewood dred and my first nitro finished guitar. I've been building mandolins for quite awhile and spray several different kinds of finish, including nitrocellulose.

My question is this: Does anyone know any details about the nitro finish Eastman is putting on these instruments. My guitar doesn't have much of that sweet smell I associate with nitro and it sounds quite good for an instrument that hasn't aged. I wonder if they're using a newer catalyzed nitro that cures faster. The guitar's been living on a Hercules stand for 3 weeks straight with no reaction.

Should I expect this guitar's sound to "open up" and become more crystalline over the next few years as the lacquer sinks in and becomes one with the wood?

  Used Guitar Prices
Posted by: Pura Vida - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (11)

Over the last few months, I've noticed a change in used guitar prices.  For years, it's been a buyer's market with a lot of used guitar inventory.  But with the recent COVID situation causing new guitar inventory to become tighter, it's having an indirect influence on used guitars.

The used guitar selection seems to be tighter, and prices are going up, as a result.  And used guitars seem to be selling very quickly, even at the higher price points.  Sure, there are still some deals to be found, but some of the used guitars are listing for about the same price as new ones, which is driving people to buy new (as long as they can find a new guitar in stock).

Has anyone else noticed this?

Introduction and question about Bass response for OM
Posted by: stevecuss - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (19)

Hello,

I am the proud owner of a new Eastman E10OM-TC thanks to Ted and Helene at LA Guitar Sales. Impeccable service from them as is their reputation.

I have been playing acoustic for most of my life and have only ever bought used guitars, but the Eastman resale value on these E OMs and the rarity of the TC pushed me over the edge to buy new.

Wow, what a guitar. The midrange is glorious, it is quite loud, gorgeous figured mahogany, lovely case. A pretty incredible value for a torrified OM with Adi and scalloped bracing etc.

One question: the strings have a very lively response until you get to the A and E strings and then it moves more to a dull thud, very much like a Gibson. Strumming makes for a lovely balanced sound and honestly, I like it, but for fingerstyle work, the bass response is a bit too dry and, well, Gibsony. Does this sound typical for an Eastman OM Mahogany?

It is far from a deal breaker, but just surprised me. I have always wanted to love Gibson acoustics as I think the J45 is gorgeous and so many of my guitar heroes swear by them, but I've never been able to warm to the Gibson sound. The Eastman overall is totally lively. Anyway, I'd love to hear thoughts on the bass response. Might be time for me to dust off the thumb pick.

A little about me: Aussie living in Colorado. I usually own two acoustics at a time, my other one being a Mcilroy A25c which I cannot see ever selling. One of my teen sons forgets that these are my guitars and keeps threatening to take one to college with him, Might have to find him a sweet E2OM or similar for that endeavor.

I have been active on AGF for 11 years and on RMMGA before that, so my ties to online acoustic communities run deep. I have learned SO much about guitars, pickups etc and love the online acoustic community.

thanks for a great forum - I guested over here while searching for an Eastman OM and narrowing down which model I wanted.
