Picked up a 6 year old E10 OM Ltd on the weekend. She was a case queen and in need of a set up. Other then 3 finish cracks on one side of heel she is in perfect condition.
I tweaked the truss rod, lower the saddle and a new set of strings. Much better. Will play for awhile and let her get adjusted to her new home before looking at the set up again.
She was 4 hours away, one way, but worth the trip. I was looking for an 00 but this OM will hopefully give me reasons to stop looking.
I love the sound and clarity of the notes. I play only fingerstyle and the mahogany just sounds right. Looking forward to how the Adi top matures.

Don't know anything about this music store, but they have a new Eastman E2D for $432 with free shipping, which I think is a VERY good price.  The guitar has an interesting look bikini tan look which may be keeping people away, but if it sounds anything like mine, its fantastic.  Sale only lasts a through tomorrow.

With all of the RH discussion, you all might appreciate this story more than most.  Our house is about 15 years old, so we've reached that point where a lot of the original items are beginning to wear out.  So far, during COVID, we've had a hot water heater replaced, one garbage disposal replaced, one sink repair, and dishwasher repair.  Thankfully, we carry a home warranty, so a monthly fee and house call charges pay for most of these repairs.

We have two A/C units: one that cools the main house, and a second that cools the upstairs bedrooms.  For the last two months, we've been bombarded with two significant heat waves and smoke from the devastating wildfires, so we've been unable to open up and forced to run our A/C more than usual (24x7).

Last month, during the first heat wave, the one A/C unit began making loud noises when it cycled off.  We have a home warranty, so we called for a repairman to hopefully repair or replace the unit.  He said the unit is dying, but it's self-contained, so he can't repair it... and the home warranty won't cover a replacement until it actually dies.  Could be a week, month, year.

Flash forward to the last 7-10 days.  I'm still running the A/C 24x7, and since COVID keeps us home, I keep the temp stable on both thermostats (dropping it at bedtime).  But I haven't been able to figure out why my humidity is so high.  My de-humidifier has been running like crazy, I'm dumping ~5 gallons of water each day, and it's still unable to get below 50% (according to my SensorPush).

Last night, it's midnight.  Kids are asleep, guitars are back on their racks, and I get around to activating a second SensorPush device.  I placed the device in my bedroom, figuring I'd watch the temp/RH acclimate on the app (just lowered to bedtime temp), while I watched TV.  But after an hour, the temp hadn't changed, and I realized I never lowered the main house thermostat.  Another hour -- and another episode of "The Americans" (highly recommended) later, and the main house temp starts coming down.  But the bedrooms are still warm, which indicates to me that the secondary A/C unit is either dead or not working properly (blowing warm/moist air into the house).

At 2:30am, I turned off the upstairs A/C and started a third episode, texting my wife with the latest details (she works nights at the ER).  Finally, temps are dropping, and an hour later, and I finally get to sleep at 4am.  I woke up a couple of hours ago, and the main house temp is spot-on at 70F (where I set it), and bedrooms are beginning to cool down.  And the RH has dropped to ideal levels, even with another full tank of water waiting for me in my dehumidifier.

Since our floor plan is open, and I keep both units at the same temp, I have no idea how long I've been running a dead secondary A/C unit, but probably as long as I've been emptying my dehumidifier like mad (7-10 days).  Although I would have figured it out last night by lowering only one thermostat, the second SensorPush was able to confirm it in real time, so cheers to being a guitarist who's obsessed with temp and humidity!

And since photos add to a good story, here are my screen shots from last night and this morning.  Time to request another HVAC repairman with the home warranty company.

After 5 days of ownership of an e40, I am deeply in love! One of the many things I love is the neck radius of 12”. I find it helps my barre chording as opposed to a flatter radius.

With that said, I am thinking of an e OM with possibly cedar or Sitka top with hog b/s. My question/issue is that this guitar would be used in a 30’ RV all summer long and living in central Michigan the humidity levels vary. Without the ac running humidity levels can rise to 70%, running it drops to mid 30’s. Would keeping this guitar cased when not in use, and playing when levels are appropriate be effective? How do people play when conditions are not perfect? Does playing for an hour or so effect a guitar negatively?

Having another Eastman OM with the same length scale, radius, and nut width, just seems to be better for my situation. At present my other acoustic has a 1” 11/16ths” nut width and I definitely feel an adjustment is needed to acclimate. I would prefer some continuity.

Need your opinions on a guitar surviving in the above conditions. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
