Received my new 12 string today.  It's gorgeous and sounds like heaven. 

But I did notice a funny thing... kind of a design issue.  The way the tuning machines are arranged in the headstock, the low E string on the 2nd tuner actually is slightly bent around the post for the first tuning machine:

I don't know why I waited so long but I finally got a Guild D-140 in cherry-burst. It needed a good wipe-down with a clean, lint-free cloth moistened with Windex, a significant truss-rod adjustment, and new D'Addario 80/20 bronze (12-53) strings. As long as I had the strings removed, I also oiled the fingerboard and bridge with boiled linseed oil which I highly recommend over "lemon" oil. The build quality is excellent; I couldn't find any noticeable flaws in construction inside or out. BTW this guitar proves that there is still nice, dark, genuine rosewood for fingerboard and bridge to be had in a reasonably-priced acoustic guitar. (No need for cheap-looking Indian Laurel!) Having done that, I now had a GREAT acoustic guitar for just over $900 after taxes. It's beautiful, sounds superb, plays easily, and holds tune after some string stretching. Actual photos can be found online. It looks very much like the Epiphone IBG Hummingbird that it is apparently meant to compete with. They are selling out fast because the reviews are overwhelmingly positive and now I know why. I would love to hear your thoughts. God bless and keep pickin'.

Out of my depth here. I have an option to buy a beautiful used custom built thinline tele style (with the single 'F' soundhole) body with no pups but functional circuitry including a four way blade in situ. It previously had SD antiquities II pups and I was wondering if an SD Vintage STL1 rhythm pup and STR1 Vintage lead pups would be drop in replacements – I don't want to be faced with having to modify circuits. Also, and in the context of a semi-hollow body would there maybe be excessive feedback? Ash body, Fender's own vintage designed pups and and at least to my eyes a beautiful tasteful relic'd finish. Here's my Fender Vintera 60's Telecaster. I'm loving the guitar and wish I wouldn't have waited so long to get a Telecaster. It has a 60's C profile neck with 9.5 in radius, very comfortable.

It was driving me crazy - so I searched all over the internet looking for a solution, and I found a great one which works well.

There’s a used Romeo LA available near me, and I’m planning to check it out. However, I would probably want to change the pickups to some kind of humbuckers, because I am a bit of a noise-o-phobe. I played a Romeo with the Lollar Imperials a while back, and the tone just absolutely slew me, so that would be plan A.

My question is this—looking at the Romeo design, the F-holes look narrow compared to typical 335-style designs, without the wider “crossbar” section usually found at the halfway point. I am having trouble imagining getting pots fished through those holes, unless perhaps they are minis of some kind.

Is this an actual issue? Has anyone here done a pickup change on a Romeo successfully? Did you do it yourself, or have a luthier do it?

What's the difference between the E1P and the E1P Bluesmaster?

Anybody who's ever bought a guitar neck to fit to their guitar will have faced the issue of whether to fit a decal to the headstock. Personally I find a headstock lacking a decal or two slightly unsatisfactory - a bit incomplete. I just received an order of a K&K Pure Mini and on the box is stamped a production date of February 2019. I'm assuming it's been sitting around because it's not the usual model - it's configured for and comes with a Tapastring wooden endpin Vintage Jack.

Should I be concerned about any degradation in performance of this transducer pickup that's been sitting around for 6½ years (or the putty used in installation)?

The transducer pickup leads to a female 3.5 mm jack. The Vintage Jack has a corresponding male 3.5 mm plug to connect to the K&K.
