Hello good people

I'm new to Eastman but not guitars. My friend and enabler Tim F, who is on this forum, pointed me to a black T486 that I purchased last week. I've been a Fender/G&L/PRS guy for a long time and was looking for a 335'ish guitar. It's being set up for 9-46s (NYXL) which I'm really digging lately and having treble bleed circuits installed on the volume pots.

I asked the luthier to take a look to see if the pickups can be split. I believe the SD Jazz in the neck is four conductor but not sure about the '59 on the bridge (I think you can order them 2 or 4 wire). My question is: Does anyone have experience making this mod? How does it sound?

Has anyone added a Mando to the herd? Just put in an order on this. I got a screaming deal because it’s blue, and they weren’t selling. Fine with me. I like it. It’s not a bluegrass or folk Mando, it’s rock n roll mandolin, baby!

My son's AC630 Jumbo will turn five in January, just amazing how it's improved over time.  When this guitar was new, Eastman said that the AC630 was their top of the line flattop, no argument here, although the later 40 series & my E20OM-TC are easily as wonderful.

Yesterday my son brought the AC630 over for me to cut a new saddle (I botched the last one).  Fun time because we enjoyed the first day of NCAA football and played guitars all day, long standing trad round here.  Got the new saddle cut today.  The guitar has never had a pickguard but a new one will be here in a couple days... then the AC630 goes back home.  ):

Eastman's years of experience using maple in orchestral instruments, archtops, mandolins etc gave them the insight to match the maple with engelmann spruce of the AC630.  Maple has been used by other big body, jumbo builders because it has a kind of neutral effect on tone, doesn't add or subtract.  AC630 is great across the registers from bass to treble, up/down the neck and that extra bass is always just a touch away.... sweet.

Hi all,
I'm new to the forum as I just ordered an AR810CE through Reverb.  This is my first Eastman and I'm excited to get it in my hands.
I noticed in the pictures that this guitar has a pickguard bracket and a knob on the pickguard.  Were these installed after the fact, or did some 810s come this way?

I just noticed in the Facebook group "Eastman Guitar Owners Group" that someone was selling an Eastman E10D with a slotted headstock.  Comes with a hardshell case and black pick guard.  $850 sounds like a more than fair price for a guitar described as only being strummed a few times.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but based on the research I’ve been doing, I don’t completely trust older Eastmans. Too many people seem to think they started out a bit rough, and have really come into their own lately. All of mine have been from the last couple of years, so I don’t know. But the stuff that is coming out now is so good, as they gain popularity and ramp up production, I don’t know how it can get any better.

I understand that this may be an over generalization but would the more learned among us say the Traditional E series is designed as competition to typical flat tops (Martinesque) whereas the AC series is designed as competition to a more modern design (Tayloresque)? I am still in the market for a larger body (dread or GA) with spruce over mahogany. I previously had a Taylor 514CE. It was a great guitar but eventually I realized I did not prefer the Taylor brightness. By appearance the AC-X22s look like Taylor X14s - GA body, closed back tuners, cutaway, built-in electronics. But appearances don't equate to tone. 

Thanks for any guidance you can provide. There is still a dearth of models to try in MN.
