I live 20 minutes from Soundpure, in Durham, NC, and a couple of hours from Midwood guitar studios in Charlotte, where I go a couple of times a month. If anyone is gassing over guitars in either of those Eastman dealers and would like a virtual audition, I’d be happy to oblige. I’ll even take my little Zoom recorder and record a demo for you.

By the way, this is a great little device for recording. Video eats batteries like a hungry T Rex, but in audio-only mode, they last awhile. Unbelievably good mics for a pocket-sized recorder.

My name is Byron.  I'm from Castle Rock, CO and I'm new to Eastman and this forum.  Been playing about 25 years.   I just bought a T64/v-AMB from Midwood Guitar Studio.  It's in transit right now, and I can't wait to get my paws on it.   I'll gladly post some pics and clips once I get it.  I'm also eager to solicit the insight, experiences and general impressions from those of you here.  I look forward to getting to know you all.   Thanks for maintaining this site.

Does anyone know if Eastman applies some kind of finish on the inside of their guitars? I don’t have a picture of the inside of my E10D-TC but I was looking at an E40D on Reverb and noticed on a closeup of the soundhole what appears to be some time of finish on the front side of the Rosewood. This is also present on my Eastman. Anyone know why Eastman is doing this wheen other manufacturers aren’t?

Has anyone owned a Potomac by Eastman guitar before?  I don't know the story here, but it seems that for a short time Eastman had a second brand which was marketed at pretty low price points.  The appointments on them seem pretty nice though.  Abalone rosette, bound fretboard and headstock, diamond inlays, all solid woods. When I have seen them used, I usually see them around a $450 price point.  There is one on eBay right now as an example.

Always wanted to give one a try.  Anyone know the backstory on these?  Perhaps they were manufactured at a big factory instead of at the Eastman factory itself?

At GuitarCenter there for a really nice price...under $500.  Listed in 'good' condition though, so anyone interested should get a thorough description from someone there.  GC has really inconsistent grading I've found...you never know what you are going to get.  But if she is in decent shape, not a bad price for an older Eastie.  One sold at Elderly for over $800 as a reference point.

Put some Seymour Duncan pickups with aged covers in my T386. Sounds great and I loved the raw look too.

Hi, I have recently acquired a used AR805 Archtop and so thought I should join up.

I had a very similr guitar back in 2007 - in the "classic" finish with the floating pick-up fitted and rarely played it, so traded it a couple of years ago and instantly missed it.
So, whilst I already have a couple of perfectly nice archtops (and I'm not really a jazzer) I've always nursed a yen for a sunburst model, and last month one turned up on the UK Ebay ... and I got it! 

Now, I need to find out how to post images - is it possible to upload direct from my files? I don't use a photo website. In the meantime here is one of my videos comparing my Eastman to my two others archtops

Selling my AR503CE-SB with original case.  In very good condition (excellent condition except for small ding on the top, between rim and upper f-hole, see photo).  All original, "low miles", original owner, purchased from Gryphon Stringed Instruments, Palo Alto, California on 9/01/2015.  $750 (lowered from $800) including shipping to lower 48.

I thought I posted this yesterday, but can’t seem to find it.. I must have missed something.

I love slope shouldered jumbos with a burst. Hell, I love an old Gibson, but can’t invest that kind of money, so I’m interested in Eastman’s SS models. Can’t get to one locally, though, so I’ll ask the experts:

Most of the boutique slopes I’ve played sound more like Martins than Gibsons, with that bright, punchy sound with very distinct string separation and a “scooped” tone - strong bass and treble, slightly recessed mids. Gibsons, even vintage ones, even really loud ones, have less bass, and a fat midrange that blends the notes when strumming.

Is there any consensus (or consistency) on where the Eastmans fall?

Hello Eastman family, have a Sapele/Sapele E2OM that is the prettiest and best sounding acoustic I own or have played. (Taylor 214, TZ5)

Now I would like to buy a second Eastman also for fingerstyle but even after I read the forum comments and Eastmans descriptions, I am not sure which guitar would be a step up or have better qualities. I know it all depends on our own likes but trying to understand what I want next is tough.
