What's your favorite guitar right now? Do you own it? Or are you hoping to own it?

My Collings D1T is my favorite. It's a far better guitar than I will ever deserve, and the same can be said for my Gibson J35 Fuller's. The D1 edges out the J35 just in that the D18 style guitar has always been the Holy Grail for me. The neck on the J35 is nice..a thick, full C, but the neck on the D1 is perfection. It's so comfortable, that it feels warm in your hand.

I am predicting that Bert is going to call out his CJ. What about the rest of you folks?

Interesting facts -2017 numbers - $100+ million in revenue, 700+ guitars/day, 160+K guitars/year Seems more like an ad then a interest story. Still very impressive for a company that has only been around about 45 years and in a very competitive market.

So this is a long story with a happy ending....I've posted before about ordering and waiting and waiting for the AC 630BD Jumbo. I've followed AlanSam's issues with his order until he finally got a replacement to his liking and still waiting and waiting for mine. Well while I was on vacation 2 weeks ago it finally came in to the shop I ordered it from, Victor Litz in Gaithersburg, Md. They checked it out and I had a trusted buddy and pro player check it out in the store. Perfect. They pack it and send it to me in Virginia. All good right? I open it up and it is stunning - I mean awesome. I'm tuning it up and I'm getting all kinds of buzz on the low E and G strings. Look closer and I feel some raised finish on the neck around the second fret - the neck is cracked. I nearly fell out. Turns out that where the neck lays in the case right where the small storage box is is where the crack is. It's right at the spot where the neck lays out over the box. So all the way up 95 I go to return the guitar sad as can be and knowing full well that's probably the end for another year of getting one. Victor Litz being a class act took it back, refunded my payment and analyzed the damage clearly done in transit by our pals at UPS. End of story but...by the grace of God I search the web and find 1 AC 630BD at Guitars Plus USA. I called the shop owner and bought it on the spot. Well today I got it (from UPS) and thinking here we go again but this time I got a pleasant surprise. It's a real beauty. I owe everyone some pics at some point but I'm just grateful I was able to snag one. I was told that only 8 made it to the USA (and we know that one will be going back) in this batch so I'm very very lucky.

Initial report (my take) is that it is much lighter than I expected and quite comfortable playing in the seated position. The middle just seems to sit nicely on the knee. The neck is full which I prefer and the wood is really stunning. all the woods used are clear as can be. I think the addition of the headstock inlay is a real nice touch from the early models that were introduced. I'm not a huge fan of the coated strings they come with but I'll switch over to the Retros I prefer sometime later. I can only compare it to the ex Collings SJA Cut that I had and while the maple may not be as clean and figured as the Collings I can tell you it's pretty damn close. Stunning and a value as well.

Anyway - all's good in the house right now and I'll work on some pics as time permits.  Cheers!

I doubt I could sneak this one pass the Mrs, but damn is that one beautiful guitar. Also I just traded an old Fender Blues Jr amp for a Fishman Loudbox Mini so I don't even have a suitable amp. The price includes shipping and does seem very attractive.

I have a El Ray 3 it is beautiful and sounds really great , Seymour Duncan 59 split coils . Pretty much a perfect guitar . Now that I have a 386 setup and enjoying it , I got out my T146 and guess what I thought about lol 186 . What do people her think between the two ? The El Ray is a two humbucker with just a block under the bridge , essentially hollow-body I guess with the support like a violin just like the 186 . I wonder if the larger body would sound better ? Purchased my first Eastman. I saw this guitar last year and tried it out so had to have it. I enjoy thinline guitars also owning a Fender Am Dlx Telecaster. The size and weight work for me. slso I do own a Taylor 814ce2. I am an older guitar guy in my 70s but the joy is there. I play through a Fender Blues Junior III. Bedroom only play just for personal pleasure. Glad I found this site.

I have recently bought a used Blueridge BR-40 that I got from Guitar Center in Tukwila, WA for $200 with a used hard shell case. This is only the second Blueridge guitar that I have owned and I have to say that I am very impressed. This guitar has wonderful tone, full, clear, maybe a little bass-heavy. I put Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze 12s on it. The guitar looks very nice as well; the craftsmanship is quite good. I am wondering what EGF readers experiences with Blueridge guitars has been.

I think there was a post about the color of Eastman natural finishes. My 2015 822ff has a very light color while my 2006 ar904 is definitely honey color. In asking Eastman, the referee to the tint as honey ( definitely not yellow in any way ). I attached a side by side photo for anyone curious.

I posted this in chatter and didn't see any response. Since it's only dealing with electric guitars I thought maybe this would be a better place .... (I was playing my 2019 t386 last-night and decided to go a little lower with the action . It has some high frets to 12th and needs the drop-off from 12 up addressed . I have a 146 and a 59 that both needed the frets lightly dressed . These 3 guitar's were purchased new . My two acoustic Eastman's are fine . My er3 was purchased used and needed alot of work , electrical, finish , I think I just polished the frets but can't remember .
I don't mind doing the work and enjoy the quirks of trully handmade guitars. But it seems Eastman is missing a important part of the final set up , at least on my 3 new one's . I did see someone comment the same on another site . Wondering if anyone here has experience this?)
