I've wanted to get black tuners for my AC320 for a long time now. A couple of weeks ago one of those little "spacing rings" between the machine head and the rest of the tuner broke and even though I put it back in, turning the machine head has become very difficult, which is why I wanted to use this to swap out the tuners for black ones alltogether. I also want to get new bridge pins.

Since this is where Eastman aficionados gather, I thought I'd swing buy and ask the following questions:

1) Do Eastman bridgepins adhere to certain measurements throughout the guitar lineup? I recently had to replace bridge pins on a Walden guitar and the first batch I ordered didn't have the correct angle (even though the schematics provided by Thomann said otherwise) and I had to go out and buy a 2nd one. I don't want something as simple as bridge pins replacement to turn into some sort of lottery.

2) I've never changed the tuners on a guitar, but based on this short video, it doesn't look to complicated. I can't say what kind of tuners Eastman installed on my AC320 since there is no brand name on them, but I reckon they are Ping ones as well. The screw holes are on the bottom, straight down. Could I get these tuners? And what about the "bushings"? I've browsed this forum and read that some people have encountered glued on bushings, ie ones that you can't just swap for different ones. Is this a common thing with Eastman guitars?

Does anyone know the difference between the varnish finish that Eastman uses in the E10SS/v and the classic finish that it uses across multiple other models including the E1SS and the PCH?  From looking at them online, they look quite similar color wise and in appearance.  But the varnish seems to be a pricey option, while the classic finish is offered without any additional cost.  Both finishes seem to be applied by hand. Maybe the varnish finish has additional steps?

In 2012 I purchased a Taylor 812CE, which was their Rosewood/Sitka Grand Concert (small body, 000 string length). The treble E and B sound was and thin. I replaced them with mediums (with all other strings light gauge). D'Addario PB is what I was using. This worked well.

I'm going through a similar experience with my E08. I feel there is not enough tension on light (11-53s) strings and a short string length. But the bass was actually what I was most unhappy with.

Yesterday I put on a set of medium/light 11-56 80/20 and am still feeling it out ... I wanted a bit more clarity and power on the bass, but now they overshadow the trebles ...

I think perhaps PB medium set may be the way to go, but not sure if the guitar is built for it.

I stumbled upon something (not Eastman) that I am going to try to nab. I need a little assist in the funds as this one is a touch on the spendy side. I decided to list the E10OM-TC. Hey everyone,

I own a 2020 E6OM and a 2020 E8D. While I love both, I've decided I'd like an E8OM and E6D. I went to a shop this past weekend, and played the E8OM and E6D and I just prefer the Rosewood on an OM and hog on a dread. I tried to work a trade with the shop, but it was going to cost me too much.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in trading an Eastman E8OM for an E8D? Or just selling me a used E8OM? Or buying my E8D? I bought this E8D (sitka/rosewood) used about a week ago and I really enjoy it. It's a 2020 model, and would include a D'Addario Humidipak System. The guitar sounds wonderful, and has a very fast neck. Action is perfect IMO. Action is low, and lots of overtones.

Hey all!  Just found this forum and thought I'd join in on the fun.  I currently own 2 Eastman guitars- a T486 which I bought in August 2019 and a SB57 which I just got this past Saturday. 

I was blown away by the T486 last summer when I started to look for a 335-style guitar.  I had played a few other models several months prior (T386 and Ray Benson sig) and both were exceptional, so when I finally decided to look into it more seriously, I ran over there first.  I played the T386, and it was really good, but I knew I wanted a T486 or T59v.  However, I was about to settle on the T386 when they told me they had a T486 in the back which they had just unboxed, just hadn't put it out on display yet.  So they grabbed it and I played it for probably a good 45 minutes and knew I had to have it.  I had them set it aside for a couple of days, traded a couple other low-end guitars I had laying around and paid off the rest.  Haven't had an ounce of regret with that decision.

Cut to more recently; I was previously never a huge Les Paul kind of guy.  I liked them for sure, but gravitated more towards other styles of guitars.  Last spring I picked up a 2018 Gibson Les Paul Classic with P-90's to scratch the LP-itch, and it's treated me well.  But I also knew I'd rather have a humbucker equipped LP.  So a couple of weeks ago, I ended up trading a PRS I had for a Corsa LCPG (hand-made in PA Les Paul style guitar).  Wow, what an amazing guitar!  I quickly realized the beauty of Les Paul style guitars when built right!  So then I decided I wanted either another Corsa LP-style guitar, or to finally pick up an Eastman SB57.  I've had my eye on these since I grabbed the T486.  I'm a sucker for black Les Pauls, especially with gold hardware (Les Paul Custom is still one of my dream guitars).  The SB57 has just enough LP Custom influence that it because highly desirable.  That, combined with the unique NTN (Next To Nothing) finish of my Corsa that reminds me of my deep appreciation of satin and thin finishes, and the SB57's satin finish, it immediately went on my Reverb watch list.  Didn't take long for a great deal to pop up, so I snagged it as quick as I could.  I got it this past Saturday and I keep looking for excuses to go play it.  It's a darker sounding guitar than I had expected, but still sounds excellent.  But the feel and playability were exactly what I had anticipated. Even though this one was used, it is in excellent condition; a few very small dents on the back and some light buffing under the pickups is all that is cosmetically wrong, and the volume pots are a bit scratchy, but that's it.

What amazing guitars these are!  They're just a blast to play, and I'm consitently impressed by the quality, especially for the price.  I know the prices seem to be increasing recently, but I still tell people they're absolutely worth it.  My Gibson LP is not a bad guitar by any measure, but the SB57 is undeniably better quality in the details.

I was wandering what capo you favour (a couple of recent posts hit on this). Personally I like Paige capos - similar to the first one I ever owned - with the screw tension adjuster. Sometimes I just don’t know when to quit. So when trying to achieve the lowest action possible l I went and slotted the low E string on both my Eastmans a bit too low and now I’m thinking I might need two new nuts. When I play open notes the low E is buzzing on the first fret. Both necks have plenty of relief And otherwise play fine.

As a temporary fix I put a little piece of paper under the E string and now the buzzing is mostly gone.

Anyway, how would you go about getting a replacement nut for an E20D-TC and an E10D-TC?

I know I could probably get some blanks online but is there any specific place that makes preslotted nuts to fit Eastman dreads?

Would a Martin bone but for a 1 3/4 neck work or is the string spacing different?

Would I be better going with a blank and letting my guitar tech do the work? Or could my tech use some filler to raise the E string?

Does anyone have any details on the Lollar Imperial "Custom Wound" specs for Eastman? Just curious if low wind, etc.
