WTB - T64/v with Trapeze Tail piece
Posted by: praichel - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - No Replies

Just throwing it out there in case anyone comes across one …. I’m on the hunt for a T 64/v without a bigsby. I am starting to think I am a sucker for those Lollar P-90s after getting my sb-55.

I know there are one or two used on Reverb right now but I’d prefer to first take a shot at working with a forum member or a friend of a forum member.

Thanks for the help everyone.

  Polishing Compound Suggestions
Posted by: John-K - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

New to the gang. Really honored to be here. Ordered an E10D SB that was owned by an idiot and looks to have some superficial scratches. Suggestions for an affordable compound to hand buff the lacquer. I’ve used scratch X on guitars for years but they have always been poly. Thank you. Love the format of this site and the friendliness. Any ideas for filling the screw holes are welcome too. *sigh* I have a chunk of ebony to make some dust but I’ve never attempted that.

  NGD: E8D-TC Alpine
Posted by: sleigh - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (17)

I  wasn’t expecting to have a NGD this quickly, but when I saw that TomC was selling this guitar in order to facilitate a new acquisition, the GAS just built up. I mean, I had an E8D already and it was a fine guitar with a lovely sound and I was happy with it. But I’d picked up one of the Alpine-topped E6Ds in the meantime and was so impressed with its sound that the thought having another Alpine top was just too much to resist. So I reluctantly sold my E8D (my last Sitka-topped acoustic) and contacted TomC. He very kindly held off selling the guitar until someone purchased my E8D, and so as of today I’m the proud owner of Tom’s E8D-TC Alpine. It sounds (and looks) fantastic, too. Color me (and my ears) very pleased, and thanks again to Tom! Obligatory pics to follow.

  EGF problems
Posted by: sleigh - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (8)

I wanted to see if other members have been experiencing these problems with the site. For me, the site's S-L-O-W. In fact, of late I've been receiving "Error 520" messages telling me that the server isn't responding and to try again later. When I click "The Daily Brew" link, it often takes several seconds before I see the list of the latest threads (and sometimes I have to click it again after half a minute or so). I'm also finding that when I post to a topic that has several pages of responses ("Introduce yourself" is a good example), my post never appears. Also, when I click on my avatar at the top right of the page to get stats or edit my signature, sometime nothing at all happens except that I get a spinning pale circle next to the avatar.

Anyone else having problems with the site? For the record, I'm on a Macintosh using Mac OS Monterey, v. 12.3.1; Safari v 15.4 is my browser. I'm not having similar issues on any other site I visit.

  $sold on Reverb E6D-TC Alpine
Posted by: mlavallee23 - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (13)

Update: Got a great deal on a E8OM, so no longer looking to trade.

If you are looking to purchase, for EGF members I am looking to get $sold, if using PayPal buyer pays fees, and free shipping.

Thanks for looking!

Let me just say that I absolutely love this guitar, but I have a bad right shoulder and I can't play this for more than 30-45 min without being in discomfort, which isn't fun.  This guitar sounds amazing with the TC Alpine top.  I purchased this from the Acoustic Shoppe back in February and they were extremely helpful over the phone on picking this one out.  I recently had this setup by Union Music in Worcester, MA and it plays fantastic.

I am looking to trade for an OM size or similar, would possibly be even open to the AC series as well, hoping the thinner bout will help.

I still have the box from February and all packing materials and will be packed up the same way it came.

Any more questions or if I missed anything, please let me know!  Thanks for looking!

  00-18 Arrived today!
Posted by: vashondan - Forum: Other Guitar Brands - Replies (14)

It made it to Seattle from SW in a record amount of time.  Info sent to FedEx Friday afternoon.  Have never received anything that fast via FedEx.

It's been here a couple of hours and you're going to help me decide when I'm going to open this box that's staring at me.  Weather looks pretty consistent between here and there (I think).  What do you guys think?  Give it 4 hours?  More?

Help!

Huss and Dalton DS vs Eastman Slope
Posted by: brandonknapp - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (9)

I owned a Huss and Dalton DS (mahogany slope shoulder) for a while it was a fantastic sounding guitar, but the neck was too thin (1 11/16 with a low profile shape, think Martin with small low profile). I miss the slope shoulder sound…smooth, clear and versatile.
I am considering an Eastman Slope… how do they compare to other slopes? Collings Or Bourgeois? Similar?
Secondly I own a E10D AND E20D…. Is there a enough difference sound wise between the standard dread and slope in Eastmans line to justify owning another Eastman?

thanks for any input on this…

  Pins for AC 308
Posted by: praichel - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (6)

Recently purchased an AC 308 ltd and am thoroughly enjoying it.  Just different enough from my E10 00ss\v to keep me guessing every night which one I am going to grab.

The one little detail that I would like to upgrade on the 308 is the plastic bridge pins.  Not a fan of plastic pins on any acoustic.  I am looking for suggestions on pin material and sourcing.  Not looking to really change the tone but never had good luck using plastic pins long term.
