I’ve owned several all solid eastmans and they are amazing.
I have never seen it played one with laminate back and sides.

I’m your experience, how do they compare?

I recently bought a Harley Benton all solid mahogany 000, and it’s very nice. However, I’m toying with the idea of getting something a little better in quality that might not be all solid.

Ideas?

I am looking at purchase of a used E6OM Ltd run (100 made) from 2014. Aside from the standard E6 features it has factory electronics, herringbone trim and abalone snow flake fret markers. Does anyone have any experience with these? What are your thoughts.

I’ve only tried Elixers once, on a guitar that they really shouldn’t have went on, so I’m no study on them. Just a curious question.

Hey, friends.  Normally, I'd keep my personal stuff out of the forum, but I mentioned that I had to have an unexpected surgery earlier this week, and I didn't want to derail Shishigashira's surprise NGD thread with my own Father's Day surprise.

I woke up last Friday with abdominal pains, which I thought might be an air bubble.  It got worse throughout the morning, and my wife took me to the ER.  Thankfully, she works there, so we were able to get seen right away.  They ran tests, x-rays, CT scans... nothing conclusive jumped out, but mentioned presence of gallstones but no swelling or infection, so they sent me home.

Saturday morning, I woke up, and things felt worse.  We went back to the ER, and they re-ran some tests, focusing on the gallbladder, based on Friday's tests.  This time, the scan showed my gallbladder was infected and swelled to 3x in less than 24 hours.  I was admitted and scheduled for surgery the next morning.

Surgery was successful, but there were a couple of complications (due to the infection, swelling), so they kept me for two more days.  I returned home on Tuesday night and will continue to recover from home over the next couple of weeks.  I'm still not sleeping well, and my activity level is very low, so I'm just focusing on recovery.  No guitar playing for now, but that will happen once I'm feeling better.

I had no prior history or symptoms with my gallbladder, and if you had asked me a week ago what its function is, I probably couldn't tell you.  The life lesson for me is that health (and other things) can change your life quickly, so be sure to live fully, take care of yourself, and appreciate every moment.

I bought a used E1SS-LTD # 301/450 a few weeks ago.
It's a 2019 model.
Was always curious about this version with the open pore.
The Fishman Sonitone had been removed. Which I preferred. Don't play plugged in.
Bridge pins replaced with bone.
The finish was buffed to semi-gloss.
This is my 3rd Eastman SS. E10SS, E10SS/V & E1SS-LTD.
The E1SS by far has the best sound.
We're all familiar with the Eastman hand carved necks variance. Ever had a finger slip off the fretboard of a narrow E10SS/V?
The neck on this SS is comfortable & not too narrow.
So, hands down the SS winner for my playing style is the E1SS-LTD.

Anyone have or played the M20? Been looking around at new and used. Really wished Eastman was interested in a bluesier sounding acoustic ie all mahogany but according to my emails with Eastman it's not gonna happen now or no time in the future. So moving on the M20 looks interesting.

Good article (5 pages) on E20ooss/v & E20ss/v reviewed in 'Guitarist' magazine. Very positive especially the E10ss/v which garnered a 9/10 Guitarist Choice rating - with the comment 'An absolute beast of an instrument that has just about everything you need in a punchy toneful dread!'.
 Then, the next two pages feature an interesting interview with Pepijn 't Hart - Eastman's product development manager. He touched upon the influence of Dana Bourgeois who has been working with Eastman's top luthier - Tekua. Pepijn stated that Eastman' dreads are now a little smaller -  the same size as Bourgeois' models. The acoustics' tops are a little thinner and some braces a little thicker. Also, there is a kiln in the workshop and wood is dried without being torrefied - which replicates two or three years air drying. Finally, he mentioned what we already know, that the new Touchtone range will be unveiled at Summer NAMM. Good read.

Just thought I'd mention to folks - I use head stock clip on tuners, and I am noticing I am getting micro scratches on the black finish of the Eastman headstock from these things.  Just a call for folks that use them to be careful if you are trying to keep your guitar in cosmetic mint condition...
